Propecia From Boots - Trying It Out

Hi all, hope you are well.
I've had a couple of consultations, one with Dr Path in BKK via email & one in person in London recently with the BHR clinic.
Have been advised that I am a: diffused loss nw3v
and that I should consider a DHT blocker to stabilise loss before considering any surgery.
I've been on the fence re Propecia but decided to try it and see how I go with it.
I've ordered from Boots via their online form, as I'm a 1st time buyer they requested my GP's details which I gave (I also visited my GP to consult prior to this to get his opinion), and I believe they are going to contact my GP's practice.
Question is does anyone know how long this process typically takes with Boots to get a first order? I ordered over a week ago,
Many Thanks,

If they are contacting your Gp it may be better for you to cut Boots out if your Gp will prescribe it, you can also compare prices with the online shop on here, best of luck as I hope the meds work for you.

Hi thanks for the reply there - it turned up today - about 8 days.

The price for 1st prescription is £46.07 for 1 month and then it goes down. 3 months £90 I think.

Thanks re the luck, will report any results/sides etc

Thought I'd post a pic of current situation so can refer back in time, if I can halt/slow where is I'd be happy with that.

Quick question - would it be cheaper if my GP prescribed it?

Thanks

If you get Proscar from your GP it will ne considerably cheaper but you will have to cut the pills up into quarters or fifths. I hope it works out for you and it is a good idea if you take monthly pictures.

As BM says you can get Proscar from your GP and cut it up so it's the same dose......Some GPs can be funny and won't prescribe it dude but a lot will and usually give it on a private prescription, it would work out a cheaper option depending on your GP.

Hey there, it's been just over one month since taking propecia. Hairline has thinned a lot which is a worry!! But paradoxically am seeing a lot (large number) of 1cm long vellus type hairs growing. They are white in cloud and have never seen before. Am hoping they grow.Hairlline is worse than started though at present & unsure of crown yet.
Will update, thanks.

Thanks for the update dude....it's not uncommon for people to get an initial shed from using propecia, things should get better dude try not to panic it's normal

Yes stick at it, the hair will grow back if it's shed via the Meds.

Hey Bullinut & Bigmac many thanks for the replies, really appreciate the feedback & insights - good to hear & fingers crossed it does come back.

Such a stressful feeling when there's a rapid shed and never experienced that before.

Those vellus hairs seem to be getting longer and there's a whole load of them - so will be interesting to see if it is regrowth/turn terminal - or am just losing hair!

Will keep updated, will aim for another image at 6 month marks,

Thanks

All the best mate, keep monthly pictures to compare as it's easy to forget how your hair use to be.
