Regaine after HT

Hi People,

Quick Question...

Do you think it is ok to start using Regaine foam 5 days after a HT but NOT in the area where the grafts were placed?

For instance, grafts were placed in front 3rd, foam used in crown area.

Just didn't want to hinder any growth or cause irritation to transplanted area.

Thanks in advance

Gee.

Just make sure no rogaine runs down on to the transplanted area for a few weeks and u will be grand.

Imo i would say it is safe if you do as Mars says, however i would check with your doctor first as they may say to wait a little longer.

It should be safe to use in non transplanted areas. We used to tell our patients to use Rogaine 5 days after surgery for years, even in the transplanted area when patients used the 2%. It was due to some patients experiencing skin irritation in the recipient area with 5% that we started to advise them to wait two weeks. The foam seems gentler than 5% liquid on the skin.

I agree with janna. And having worked for different clinic over the years the consensus is pretty much the same.

Hi all,

Thanks for the advice.

I'm currently 6 weeks post op and started using 5% Rogaine foam after a couple of weeks in the recipient area with no irritation whatsoever. I guess all the advice I received was bang on, cheers guys!
