Scar Removal

I'm starting my research on possibly removal of or reducing the number of old strip scars in my next (and last) strip procedure. I have several scars, and now one on the right side (see my gallery pics) is starting to become visible even when dry. At my consultation with Dr. Ron earlier this month, we discussed this option. I asking any forum members who may have gone this route, to share their experience with this option (good or bad) I think SMP is an option at some point, but due to the distances to good SMP clinics and the number of sessions, this is currently not doable. Today I tried some Dermatch on the scar for the first time ever, and it helped quite a bit. I had some from my surgery two years ago, that I never used. Thanks for any advice or comments.

I've had a few scar revisions which have worked out well, the scars were from surgery I had back in the 90's which did not turn out well. One scar however kept stretching in one section, not sure why this section would stretch, in the end I opted to have Fue put in.
If you have the laxity maybe have yours excised out, if not I would opt for Fue and possibly temporary Smp to see how that works for you, as you say though you need to find a clinic offering the Smp in your area as you do have to get repeat sessions.

It is a little difficult to see from your photos as to what might be possible as the scar photos say they are one month do you have any recent photos that you could upload?

If the scars are wide and stacked on top of one another they could be revised and improved provided you have good scalp laxity. If you are considering this as an option you should start scalp exercises to loosen your scalp. As big mac says fue into the scar is a possible option depending on the blood flow of the scar or even beard hair if you have a viable source and have a limited number of scalp hairs.

As for temporary SMP I understand that the Harley Street Clinic will be offering the same technique as Beauty Medical in Milan so that may be an option although I recommend some test sessions as whilst two of my scars held the ink one of them just lost the ink within a few days.

If you had FUE into the scar, how long after would you have to wait before you could have SMP in the same area.

Dr. Ron felt that there was some laxity present and that he could use Vitrase also. I do plan on starting scalp exercises again, I used Joe's video as a teaching aid to prepare for my last transplant with SMG. This afternoon, I received a letter from Dr. Bradley Wolf's office. I had consulted with him in person a few years ago and really liked him. His clinic is hosting an SMP training later this month and he will be offering it as a service at his clinic. His clinic is a five hour drive from my home, but will be the closest if I opt for this in the future.

If you do go visit Dr Wolf and have Smp it would be great if you post about it, Dr Wolf is a good doctor.The scalp exercising will help also as you know if you decide on a scar revision.

Hey Bigmac, Yes I really liked Dr. Wolf, when I went for my consult with him, he spent quite a bit of time with me, and was very open and honest. I chose SMG over him because I had so many plugs that had to come out. I will be keeping him in mind for the SMP if I need it. Before anything, I need to address my current scars and last procedure. I know FUE into scars has shown some decent results, but I just don't have the scalp hair to spare. For right now, the dermatch on the scar is helping, and is better than nothing.
Garageland, I do not have any current photos of my scar's. The one at one month post op looks much the same, although a little worse. I'll see if I can get some current pictures.

Have you considered body hair into the scars as that may work out well for you, I do hope you can get them sorted.
