Scar Repair with Beard Hair Dr Bisanga

Cheers musclehair its been a long fight ! growth at the moment approx 40% , a lot of the grafts didnt fall out they just stayed there and have started to grow slowly .

The biggest difference is that the reflection of light on the scar area has been drastically reduced , i know that sounds weird but its like the expanse of bare scalp has been broken up. I think beard hair into scar takes a lot longer to grow its exciting though, as you correctly say it gives us an opportunity to repair and get high norwood levels a decent coverage

Im amazed at the healing, Dr Bisanga used a .8mm punch , i didnt understand the difference at first with a couple of mm`s but i think my healing is down to the skill of Dr Bisanga and the size of punch he uses , will get some pics up soon
Thanks
ej

It's good to know that hair definitely does grow in scar tissue as it's often used as an excuse for a poor outcome. That's filling in quite nicely at a very early point so good for you.

You are very lucky to have all that beard hair.

Thanks a lot for the update Ejj, your testimony is much appreciated specially for those who are thinking about following the same path due to lack of donnor.

Now we are all waiting to see how in the next months new beard hairs will grow. We still want to see more growth although its still early.

Please keep us informed of your progress: your post is extremely valuable because there are not many cases like yours reported, only interested publicity from the clinics.

All the best in your brave fight.

Many thanks for updating your progress.

I would like to ask you about your impressions, specially regarding growth. Do you see difference between the previous updated you did one month ago? Can you give an estimated sucessfully beard hair growth at this time?.

I can only thank you once again and of course wishing you more hairs to come.

I finally started my repair procedure with Dr Bisanga last Monday . Dr Bisanga grafted 1032 beard hairs into my strip scars using a .8 mm manual punch , 3 days later the healing is incredible , the extractions are hardly visible , Dr Bisanga has given me hope that I can be repaired and im extremely grateful to the Dr and his techs who really looked after me on the day , now just the long wait for growth !

Thanks to all at bhr ,

ejj
Thats a bad scar. Who was responsible? Why is it so wide? Its good you have decided to do something about it. My best wishes to you.

Thanks for the comments. Musclehair I cant really tell if there has been a great deal of change over the last month or not , thoughts were to do monthly updates at around
six month mark .

% of growth am unsure about really as its very hard to see and photograph , i believe beard hair is slower and especially in scar tissue so i think lots more to come !

Anand the scar was courtesy of NHI Greece who told me i was having FUE and the choi implanter however once in the chair the dr proceeded to take a strip either side resulting in the scar you see grafted with beard hair .

The lower scar you see circled in pen pre op in the first photos was a strip scar were acell was used and stretched in a weird way like a large expanse of non hairbearing scalp really , anyway " worse things happen at sea "

cheers guys

Let me understand this. You mean the lower strip scar expanded after using acell?!

Yes i believe thats what happened , I believe acell causes the tissue to be softer and more prone to stretch over a period of time . Obviously this was 2 years ago and protocol may of changed but this was my experience .

I heard Dr Bernstein had some results of acel but as of yet they have not been published which is dissapointing , some Drs state it helps healing but ive noticed these comments relate to fue where there isnt any tension on the donor , i believe under tension , with strip , acell provides no benefit , i would go as far to say in my case it made my situation ten times worse .

Im aware Drs using acell have given lectures at various meetings and done the usual powerpoint presentations , however my question remains the same , other than my results , were are the photographic results ?........ i get the feeling acell is being " kicked into the long grass" alongside .... laser combs,.... prp.... plucking .....however .. "replicel" and "arty" the robot are here to save us !

Regards

Ejj

Thanks for the info on acell. You are correct. Theres a lot of talk but very little pix about it working for ht. But I never thought acell could lead to scar widening up like that. What did NHI docs have to say?

Hi anand

to clarify , these were two different Drs and procedures , BHR Grafted the larger scar which was courtesy NHI Greece ( M Mendelsohn ) the lower scar is from a procedure 2 years ago were the Dr used Acell , attached is my left hand side strip removal with acell from the same procedure , thats stretched also and is Dr Bisangas next area to improve , note the soft ,white ,tissue , i think thats what acell does basically , result in a non hairbearing area of tissue !

I have loads of pictures before and after , however the clinics who use acell must have dozens more than me but cant seem to showcase them !

Hope this is informative

Cheers
