Sun Exposure

I'm 7 days post FUE and had to be in the sun for a few minutes this afternoon. I can't wear a hat yet b/c my doctor said not to for 2 weeks. I covered my head with an umbrella for those few minutes. Is that sufficient to protect my head?

You will be fine. You’d need to be in direct sunlight without anything covering your head for any potential risk. Who did you have your surgery with?

Is there a specific amount of time I'd need to be under direct sunlight to be at risk? I wasn't sure if an umbrella was enough to keep out the UV rays.

I had mine done by a doctor in Los Angeles by the name of Rob Berberian

A few minutes in direct Sun wont do any harm unless you're in the Sahara desert where your scalp may start burning quickly. You don’t need to worry. Sun exposure varies from clinic to clinic in their post-op instructions. I was fine wearing a loose fitting baseball type cap everyday after surgery.
I’ve not heard of your doctor. I’ll have a quick look at his website. Maybe you could share your story in the patient section. It’s always good to see a variety of results from doctors.
