The Glasgow Clinic

Dear all,

This is to announce that there is a new clinic that is available for hair loss sufferers in Scotland and the North East of England.

We have set the clinic up as a no nonsense unbiased centre offering all aspects of treatments for hair loss. This will range from hair transplantation through to hair products and medications.

We will be offering surgery in our centre but there is a unique slant to this.

All suitable patients will have the opportunity to use a variety of surgeons, either in house or at the doctor's own clinic. We will explain, clearly and thoroughly all that is involved within a no pressure environment.

I am in contact with several doctors and will be offering both strip and FUE surgery.

People coming directly to us will pay no more than actually going to the clinic's themselves but our aim is to offer more of a bespoke service.

I feel that this is something that has been lacking in the market place for some time and genuinely feel it will be of great help to the hair loss sufferer.

We are based in Glasgow and are imaginatively called The Glasgow Clinic.

Why do you have before and after pictures of Duncan Bannatyne, Wayne Rooney, James Nesbitt Louis Walsh and Shaun Williamson on your website?

Bannatyne and Shaun Williamson were treated by Dr Farjo, one of the surgeons we offer. But although not totally obvious to anyone visiting our site, it`s part of a poster campaign where we state you don`t have to be a celebrity to have a Hair Transplant.

Website is still at its embryonic stage and will be beefed up with more informative and topical information over the coming weeks.

There are a few things that trouble me with this post . The title states ` New Clinic` for hair loss sufferers which would lead people to believe thats what it is , however it would seem that infact you promote Drs and there services ,in essence similar to a middle man , apologies if im wrong , it just appears this way to me .

It just gives the impression that you treated all of these celebrities yourselves, anyone who doesn't know the industry would most likely get that impression.

I do like the fact that you let people know that FUE is not scarless, and that you will get a scar with FUT, although it's not the norm to be able to shave down when you have had a strip taken out.

This will be a good opportunity for people to access a doctor without having to travel far if you`re in the UK and if its a doctor who is inknown to the forum feel free to ask as many questions you want .

Hi Fraser,

When will you announce the choice of doctors and their pricing structure? I live in the North West of England, quite near the Scottish border so this could be just what I`m looking for.

Will you be adding patient results to your website?

We currently do consultations and referrals to Dr Farjo and have Dr Rogers from the Westminster Clinic committed to surgery at our Glasgow Clinic. In addition, we are also currently talking to a leading FUE surgeon based in Brussels.

At the clinic, we are committed to offering unbiased independent advice that will allow the client to make an informed decision. Having surgery in Glasgow with your chosen Surgeon, or anywhere else you choose, will not cost any more than if you went directly to the surgeon's clinic.
We will strive to add choice and attract the best available surgeons. It's important clients get all the information required to make an informed choice in a relaxed unpressurised environment. We strongly recommend not making a decision on the day of consultation.

Before and after pictures are available on the aforementioned surgeon's websites and can be made available at consultation.

Hi Fraser,
Who will conduct the consultations at your clinic?
Thanks Trev.

Hi Trev,

Consultations are either with me or our trichologist. A completed medical history form and piictures are then forwarded to the chosen surgeon. In some circumstances he might insist on seeing any individual before surgery can be booked.

Personaly, I quite like sharing my own HT experience and it also allows you to see first hand what results can be realistically achieved if you go to a good surgeon like Dr Farjo.

I had aprox 2500 grafts and should probably dig out the before and after pics and share them with the forum.

Hi Fraser

Not sure why someone would go to you, simply to have his photos forwarded to a surgeon when he could do this himself?

I would want to see the surgeon myself rather than see a middleman.

Hi Beardywierdy.

I have to agree, I`m not entirely sure why someone would want to come to us. Maybe it`s because they get unbiased independent advice, a choice of surgeon whilst not paying any more than if they went direct, maybe they don`t want to have a 500, 900 or 2,500-mile round trip or maybe it`s just a combination of all of these things.

Incidentally, if you want to see the surgeon and I can understand why you might, then you can either see him whilst he is in Glasgow for free or usually pay a small consultation fee to him direct at his own clinic
.

Fraser ,

I detect a hint of sarcasm in your reply that really isnt necessary . The travel `card ` isnt really applicable as Dr Farjo consults in Manchester and London, both destinations are served well with travel links from anywhere in the UK . Also flights to Brussells are cheap from any UK Airport , I paid £ 50.00 return and consulted with four prominent FUE Drs in one day ( £- free )...

You provide a choice of ` three` Drs , one remains unnamed and a trichologist , my experience with Trichologists would be to save your money , unless you require a scalp massage , which is quite nice and relaxing !

From my own experience real unbiased advice only exists on forums such as this , with patients talking to each other openly , this advice and help is ` free `and unafilliated to any particular Dr or clinic , so I fail to see your ` unique selling point` at this time

regards

Hi Fraser

Do you have any photos of your own HT to share with the forum?

Thanks
