The pros/cons of FUE. Myths dispelled.

Great post, thank you!
I'm starting out my research and after two consultations I'm a little confused which way to go.
I've been quoted £8k for 2750 grafts FUT and then £5.50 per graft FUE bass on 2500-3000 grafts.
Would be glad to hear anyone's views on the numbers. I see a few saying that FUE is coming down in cost and some surgeons are very good and priced competitively....I'm now trying to find them!

FUE is very labor intensive indeed, hence it will likely be always more expensive.
The hot bed for FUE hair restoration in Europe is without a doubt Belgium. I can not think of any other place where top FUE clinics are located in Europe.

Yes I have to agree with Beverotti. Belgium is unique when it comes to hair transplantation. Unlike the rest of the world having all these top notch clinics in close proximity creates an environment where the skill level of each clinic feeds off of the rest. They have no choice but to keep pushing their game higher and higher as the competition gives them no other option.

I would be shocked to ever hear of a clinic there that was able to survive offering a lesser level of skill and service. It would just go against a basic law of economics.

They all happen to be using small hand punches €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦..that should be a clue €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦..hmmm €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦I wonder why €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦


I think some of these guys that put lists together have one foot in the water. Many seem to realize that there are only handful of doctors that have the skill required to use these small punches yet they have hopes somehow the robot will come through for the rest of the guys on the list. But what do you do in the mean time €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦..can you actually recommend something that does not quite meet the same level that patients expect. Hopefully they do the right thing but sometime money is a strong incentive to do otherwise and they end up dancing around the truth.

I still think FUE is way overpriced in a lot of places, particularly North America.
I myself paid around 14,500 euros for the entire procedure which worked out at around 1800 euros an hour for the actual operation itself....which is quite an hourly rate.
I hope the techs get paid well!
