Thinking about quitting Propecia

Fast approaching the three month mark and hair loss continues... the problem I'm having is that I started off at .5mg EOD. After two months I went to .5mg every day and my libido has completely vanished. It's takes some effort to even get a hard on now....
Options left are to return to .5mg EOD or quit. I'm thinking about quitting tbh and getting my sex life back.
I tried Regaine and that gave me an itchy scalp so no options available on the meds.
Really dismayed by the whole affair.

Have you contacted your doctor regarding this to see what he suggests, it's never effected me this way so I can't really comment on your personal situation, you could look at saw palmetto, Sl has a thread all about it.
If you persist with the meds, maybe try taking it every other day in small doses to see if anything changes,

My gp wanted me to take half a 5mg tablet every other day when i first got prescribed it, i dont do this i cut the tablet in quarters and take one every day then miss a day.
The problem with erection difficulties are they sometimes can be (not saying they are) pyschological and the very thoughts of you taking this medication in your head could in fact be making things worse*nl

I had been getting the 5 mg tabs from gp for couple years, he was doing me a favour as nhs dont recognise the treatment.
New GP now wont prescribe. Bri got my last lot from states.
I am reading that there may be topical solutions instead of the tabs such as shampoo prohairclinic retails ?

There's an easy test IMO if you are really getting sexual sides or if it's in your head.
If your morning wood is gone or less raging you are defo having the sides. When your asleep your conscious mind cant interfere then.

Libido returned but not fully. After six months of Propecia I see little result so I probably won't order it again after this batch is done.

Just an interesting observation i had when i first started using Propecia over 10years ago.
I read about the possible sexual side effects after approx 6mths of treatment. Low and behold i started getting erectile problems and immediately blamed the drug. However i still got morning wood. Once you read something its always in the back of your mind.
Purist you say after 6mths on Propecia you see little result. You need to give the drug 18months. Even if you dont get much regrowth, you may have stabilised your hairloss.
