Threat of Legal Action Against Our Forum

Dear forum members and visitors.

I would like to start by saying that since starting up Hair Loss Experiences I have always tried hard to keep the forum "real", allowing people to tell their hair loss history good or bad without prejudice. We cannot "vet" every poster to ensure their stories are correct but the belief of the forum is to help hair loss sufferers and those that participate act in an unselfish way with truth simply for the benefit of others without any gain to themselves.

I have received an email from a solicitor working on behalf of a clinic whose patient has posted his story with images on this forum. They have threatened legal action against the forum for comments made by some forum members that they say are incorrect, claiming the posters of these comments are not who they make themselves out to be. Basically, they have accused the forum of trying to damage the reputation of the clinic and allow posters who are not related to the clinic post false accusations.

We rely on honesty when members post on the forum. We do not tolerate the forum to be used as a board to make unfounded comments. In the past or in the future, if a poster is found to have a hidden agenda, they will be removed.

Due to the threat of legal action against the forum, any mention of the said clinic will be for the time referred to as That Clinic. I ask all posters who wish to relate their case against the said clinic to first furnish me with details as to their credibility of having an operation with the said clinic. All details will be confidential and not released on the forum, but if legal action is taken against the forum, the forum withholds the right to release the information to legal persons if deemed necessary.

I have to say this is a dark day, I want to believe all posters are genuine, and I do believe almost all are. I have personally met many of you so I know you are genuine and honest about sharing your experiences. Being a repair patient myself, I know just how important it is to research the good, the bad, and the ugly truth in the hair restoration industry. Please continue to share your genuine experiences. Thank you all for your continued support of this forum.

Bigmac.

That's a shame big Mac as it has been extremely beneficial to many many posters . It can take a few dickheads to spoil it . Still the most honest hair site on the net you have my support .

BM you run an honest forum and it is appreciated. We all have a responsibility to post the truth and those that do not bear that liability alone.

What a Tool
Hopefully, people reading the forum will be able to discern the good from the bad. In terms of poor work, shills etc we all know who the culprits are. Hopefully the forum will serve to educate the newbies and help them choose wisely and not succumb to glib marketing techniques.

There always are a few who spoil it for the rest of us who are sharing genuine experiences and advice.

Fantastic site, great job.

What you posted sounds like a fair policy too, to give honest posters the opportunity to prove they are who they say they are.

Who knows, it may be true what they are saying and the clinic may just be trying to cover it up. Either way, your policy is fair to all.
