To shave or not to shave

I have diffuse thinning pattern similar to Prince William in his early days. I am thinking of buzzing it down to see what I actual look like, if I'd suit a close cropped look. Not sure if I should have it cut to maybe a no 4 guard, then go gradually shorter. This way if I suit the short look, the transition from having some hair to going bald won't be as bad. I'm slightly concerned if I do t suit the look I'll be stuck with it for several months until it grows back. Have any of you guys just went for it and buzzed it off?

Are you treating your hairloss with Fin or Rogaine.

The shaved look suits some and not others. I shaved mine once and got lots of negative comments mainly due to my skull shape.

Finasteride made me nauseous, so I quit. Minoxidil made my hair brittle, so I quit. I'm not sure natural products work. I think my skull shape is somewhat lumpy, not a rounded shape. This may make my head look like a peanut. If I buzz too short, I potentially could have a rough time.

If I were you, I would get it cut shorter than you usually do, see how it looks and if you like it gradually go shorter with every new cut.
This way you aren't buzzing right down and regretting it straight away.
Good luck.
