Where to get unbiased recommendations

Hi all,

Newbie here so please be gentle!

I have been contemplating getting a hair transplant for some time but am unsure which clinic is best. I live in the North of England so would prefer somewhere not too far away.

I get the feeling that there are a some dubious practises in this industry. I was thinking about using the Farjo clinic until I saw a Facebook page listing bad information about them, only to find out that this page had been set up by one of their competitors.

Any help would be appreciated

Have you any images you can post showing your loss?
Take no notice of those pages.
Read through the patient section, there’s plenty of results which will provide you with the information you seek.

I don't currently have any photos but I'd say I was around 4 on the Norwood scale

id say youre closer to a nw5 with a lot of ground to cover (looks like your temple points are receded as well?). As youre in the UK id start by looking at Feriduni and Bisanga in Belgium, De Freitas in Spain, and Hattigen in Switz. All of those guys are top notch.
If you were willing to travel further id also get a consult with H&W and Eugenix.

IMO I dont really think the UK is at the same standard as those guys, and their prices are a bit more inflated as well

IMO there are a few good doctors in the UK it’s not like it used to be a few years ago where abroad was the only option to get a good result. I’d read the patient section in this forum like Bigmac mentioned, There are lots of real world results and examples which should help you make your own judgment on results and which HT clinic would suit your needs

Have you looked into hair loss medications such as Finasteride? It could potentially stop, slow down and possibly regrow some miniaturised hairs.
Can I ask how old you are?

I'm in my late forties.

I did speak to my doctor a few years ago about Finasteride but was warned off it due to the possible side effects.

IMO there are a few good doctors in the UK it’s not like it used to be a few years ago where abroad was the only option to get a good result. I'd prefer to stay in the UK if possible due to the current covid travel restrictions.

I take it that there are no stand out clinics in the UK that are better than others?

It's best to have different consultations with different surgeons they u get a feel for them
Have plenty of questions with u as well
U are on the right forum here mate
People here just have only got ur best interest at heart

I had my HT with The Hair Dr 11 months ago this Saturday, my progress can be found in the patient section. My experience was 1st class and the after care has be excellent too. My result is coming on nicely and having the weight off my shoulders worrying about being bald is worth every penny i spent

Finasteride could help close up your crown area. It may save you 1000 grafts if you are a good responder.

Hi mate
What kind of hair style do u want
Cos ur hair looks quite straight and thin
Maybe if u decide on a really short hair cut,tell surgeon u want to keep short
It disguises the crown thinness alot better
And overall thinness
Meds is good to try first but dont expect miracles as ur hairloss is quite aggressive
If u have a hair transplant and keep ur hair long,as ur hair is thin the overall appearance will be a stringy comb over appereance
So maybe keep hair short,go on meds and go see surgeon who can work with u and the look u would b best suited to
UK clinics I think are good are

Seen some nice work from Dr Tam, Dr Arshad at the Hair Dr clinic is producing nice results.....seen some good results from the Westminster Medical Group too to name a few.....as Bigmac says have a read of the forum, get a feel for the place and then get as many consultations as possible until you feel 100 percent comfortable with your choice dude.

I've got a high forehead so would prefer a hair style that's not too short but rather covers part of the forehead.

I'm inclined to give The HairDR a call as I live up North so they are not too far away and I like some of the results that I've seen from their clininc

It could have saved a lot of your native hair and possibly improved it.
On appearance, your donor looks decent but you do have a thin patch appearing just below your crown.
You`re probably going to need 3000 plus grafts to get a desirable result.

I agree try Finasteride first it will probably thicken your existing hair and prevent shockloss if you do go down the road of a HT. Had 2 procedures with Farjo and can honestly say I had a fantastic experience with the clinic,the results I got from the Farjo were fantastic highly recommended them. I live in the North east so Manchester wasn’t far to travel but don’t let that put you off,do your own research and take your time as it’s not a procedure you want to rush into.
