Why do some results look better than other, given the same number of grafts.

There are many factors, but one critical issue is the patients own hair quality and quantity.

Grafts are usually made up of 1,2,3,4 and some people even have 5 hair grafts.

Most patient have a good spread of multi grafts, the average often is found between 2-2.5 hairs per graft.
However some patient just do not have many multi hair grafts, such as is the case with this patient. Nobody is to blame for this, that is just nature.

Obviously having a lot over very little multi grafts make a HUGE difference in the end result.

Just a small example:
3000 grafts case:
Average : 2.0 = 6000 hair
Average 1.5 = 4500 hair

We take into account that some people have less then average hairs per graft. If this is the case than it is discussed with the patient. Given he has enough total grafts we may offer him to perform more grafts to compensate.

As said many factors as to why the same amount of grafts can give differing results.

To name a few hair to skin colour and contrast, surface area to cover, hair to graft ratio, hair coarseness, length of hair of the patient, angles at which grafts are placed, how the hair is being worn by the patient and styled.

Some will have as good growth and yield but appear less than another with more favourable attributes but the same graft amounts placed.

Always best to seek not only graft numbers but similar characteristics in seeing how a result will potentially look.

In my opinion... it is experience of the clinics... the more experienced clinics provide the better results...

I guess the easy answer would be some of these doctors don €™t know what the hell they are doing and spend too much time and energy pretending that they do. They go in there and kill too many grafts in and from the donor area along with any hair in the recipient area.

I agree with HT experience does matter and I would include natural talent along with the determination to keep at something consistently working towards becoming better. We can look back on the history of FUE and how many doctors just gave up because they just didn €™t have what it takes to spend endless hours working that manual punch. And of course caliber of hair, number of hairs per graft, hair to skin contrast etc, but those are or should be known factors.

Pretend we have 2 newly built houses by 2 different carpenters. One house is virtually perfect while the other house has walls out of square and floors that are not level what causes this, why the drastic difference in the 2 houses €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦the 2nd house with all the flaws has poor physiology it probably should have never been built.

I agree to it.. It varies from one surgeon to another. And it is all because of treatment. I mean which treatment surgeon did..like It can be done via 2-3 methods:
1. FUE (Follicular Unit Transplantation)
2. FUT( Follicular Unit Extraction)

From above, FUE is advanced and more result oriented.

If I had to pick only one trait that would trump all else it would be what the doctor sees in his head when he looks at my head. That vision of what should go where and why would rise above all else and this is something I don €™t think can be learned at least not learned to the extent of any kind of greatness, that is called talent.
