Woods or Umar

Hi everyone

I would need some help in chosing between these 2 doctors.
I did research on both of them and Im still not sure which one should I go for.
Im after these 2 docs bc I i will need to use body/beard hair for my procedure as my head donor
wont be enough to gimme coverage and density i desire, so you can see that limits my choices.

Woods seems to be good doc, gets high yield with fewer grafts but is so expensive,
about $14 per graft is his current price. Another thing about him is that he is a bit too conservative
when it comes to hairlines and he doesnt seem to give lot of density, all his cases have somewhat
thin see through look; yes he doesnt use too many grafts.I would need about 6 000 - 7000 grafts and
that would cost me almost 100 k;ss;, now you see thats a lot of money and im not sure if his work
justifies price, even if i get some discount it would still be lot of $$$



Umar on the other hand does bigger sessions 1500 grafts per day and charges $7 per graft, so it
would cost me 50K, without any discounts, mayb id be able to get it for cheaper price.
Thats half what Woods charges.
Umar densities are much better and has more documented cases on his website than woods

I never met any of Dr Umar patients but Ive met one of dr Woods and while result was ok for amount of grafts use
the patient needed double the number of grafts to look good.
Woods does all his work by himself while Umar uses techs .

So apart from the obvious that Dr Umar is bang for buck, who in your opinion does better work,
gets better yield and looks more natural? Is Woods graft worthed 2 Umars, or its overpriced?
They all claim that 95% of grafts will grow.
Is it possible that Woods gets better yield due to his small sessions of 500 grafts per day vs Umars
1500 per day?


I would like to hear your opinion, unbiased and honest

For bht bisanga would be my choice,dont know much about woods but those prices are crazy,umar is too aggresive imo.

I`ve not seen much of their results although there are some Dr Umar patients on here who`s results look good.

Either option you`re looking at a lot of cash to pull out, have you any pictures you could share with us.

Hope you get a big discount - even 50K is a lot of money to spend to restore your hair. 50k - not counting travel and time off work expenses...yikes. Good luck in your decision and finding the right place.

I think Umar has done some exceptional work and have read posts on here with guys that have been to him so they are about-his repair cases are IMHO the best I have ever seen ;-)

Masher...Still when I go to BH it will be with Sir Ron whether thats as a gunnie pig or straight into a mix of hair beard and body if needed we will see. Think he said I had another 2000 grafts in the bank but my scalp laxity is very tight so even with vitorol we only got 1400....good job I have a small head! lol

I'm nw6 and I don't mind shaving my head but itt would be nice to have something on top n nice hairline. I have abundance of body hair which are mostly doubbles and thick and strong beard. You are right umar is agressive while woods is conservative. I've seen results where umaar turned nw7 to nw0, he is hardcore. Yes woods prices are crazy, biggest turn off.umar pricing is on par with other ht docs, and I don't want strip as it will cause scar n I can't buzz it short.so it only leaves me a few choices and I want someone who is tthe best with bht n beard hair. Maybe past umars n woods patients can give some advice. Its the best when you hear from ex patients, not paid shills.

Well, out of the 2 I would go for Umar, but if you haven't had anything done so far and don't need to cover up bad surgery etc, and your scalp hair isn't enough, I wouldn't do anything at all to your head.

I've been to Umar three times, the first time was August or Sept. of 2009, where he completely rebuilt my hairline using nape, scalp and beard hair. The results blew me away. After that session I was eagerly anticipating round 2 in January of 2011 when I had a medical emergency with my back and couldnt walk for 6 months (the whole time I was down I was thinking it was the prefect time to be regrowing from another round but I could not walk through an airport to get to Redondo Beach) but when I was finally able to walk (with a limp that I still have) I got out there for round 2 in September. Dr. Umar recommended I wait 8 months before I go to round 3 but I simply cannot wait, and since I have two weeks off over the holidays I talked him into round 3 last Monday.

Dr. Umar does incredible work, and he cares about his patients. Dr. Woods also does incredible work and he also cares about his patients, but his prices are crazy, and he is in Australia. You can't go wrong with either of them, but I can vouch for Dr. Umar, he is expert at blending multiple sources, which is hugely important for me as my donor is ravaged from multiple strips in the 90's. I only hope the last two surgeries turn out as good as the first. The hairline is simply amazing. Good luck!
