What's done is done. Getting good advice and making the right choices from here on is what matters. All the best with it.

My Man had this done by a major provider 11 days ago. No representative from the company has said so much as I am sorry. I posted pictures on their facebook page, with no negative comments. Naturally they were removed and I was blocked from their page. I now know how that company operates, and will advocate to insure anyone who is lucky enough to receive this info, does not fall victim.

The price for the proper laser treatment to correct the hideous procedure is more expensive then the procedure itself. He wanted to go for the 2end scheduled procedure as the technician/owner assured him it would be fine after more sessions for density added. Thanks to the forum members for discouraging any further damage. One member told him in private that it is unprofessional to discourage someone else's work.

If he had gone back it would have been devastating and more expensive. We like so many others are not wealthy people, the cost for the process was a stretch of the budget, but I agreed as I believed it might give him some peace of mind. Where the kids used to call him MR Clean, Now they are calling him PaPa Smurf as he glows light blue.

Thank you all that have helped him with your advice and guidance. We will continue to post updates in hopes we can help others with our experience.

I've added your posts to this topic as both threads are about the same patient.
Hope your man can find a solution.

The blue color is not an illusion. I have never seen anything like it. The only thing I can come up with to describe the color is, The Scalp Aesthetics tech told me he was blending black and white to create light brown to match my hair color.
Maybe it turned out smurf blue and not light brown as expected.
It kind of looks like it has traveled under the skin to create blue all over and not just the dots.
I am hoping my immune system will clean it out as I have read about in other threads.
All I have left is hope.

You are correct, it is not an illusion. The pigment was placed too deeply into the lower dermis. Your immune system clean up is now partially what is causing the pigment migration that you are seeing. When it is placed too deep into the dermis the cell matrix is not tight enough to support the pigment particles so they are basically able to wander. This is what I was concerned about.

The fading that you see is pigment that was not properly placed as well. That pigment was placed too shallow into only the epidermis. As your cells renew in the epidermis the pigment is pushed out and replaced with new pigment free cells. The dermis does not turn over.

We need to look into a laser treatment. Did they tell you if your pigment was tattoo pigment or permanent cosmetic pigment? This is important because it will chart the course for removal.

Hi again Nicole,
I asked about the Ink, All he knew was it is charcoal based SCALPA permanent ink.
The Scalp Aesthetics provided ink. I have also spoken to A Tattoo Medics in Boston MA.
They are experienced with the picasure laser removal. They have not told me if they have ever removed SMP before. Yesterday was the first e-mail correspondence
. Thanks Nicole, I need the help.

Nicole,
I am getting a sickly feeling in my stomach that tells me the blue migration that you speak of is not going to resolve itself .
Can this get any worse. This was done by huge company with offices all over the world.
their many videos tell how they fix substandard work done by competitors and then offer a lifetime guarantee.
the owner that did this to me tells me I am just paranoid and if I dont let him fix it , the corporate office has told him to cease any form of communication with me.
Ok I will stop crying .

Hi tech593,
I agree with Nicole when she explains about the application of the pigment.

"a lifetime guarantee" not all SMP is the same, some may last longer than others, but a lifetime is an open ended non-statement.

Generally after a few weeks the pigment has settled and besides fading over time there is little change. Try to be positive and look to resolve your situation. Picosure is a very effective laser treatment for SMP, but you want to ensure they have experience in the removal of SMP.
If you find somewhere close great, but don ´t rule out having to look a little further, what ´s important is you get some positive closure.

Tech I would suggest to you as hard as it €™s going to be is to gut this out for a while. Of course that is not what you want to hear but it could very well keep you from digging a deeper hole which many before you have managed to do by not slowing down.

Maybe consider spending more time on how you can better cope with the situation longer term which I €™m sure you are already doing. It €™s can be fairly common with hair procedures that patients become locked into certain occupations or tend to move into occupations where it is easier to cope both short term and long term. Once again certainly not something you want to hear but maybe good advice.

I think for your long term welfare which is absolutely the most important point to consider you really need to spend as much time as possible understanding each and every solution completely and become your own expert.

Here is something to consider. Many guys back in the 80 €™s made some naïve decisions which landed them in hot water and at the time gathering information was extremely difficult. The information landscape has changed, it €™s easier today one only needs to spend the time going through it all.

For example there was a doctor that could very well have helped many of those guys back in the 80 €™s €¦ €¦.Bobby Limmer €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦the problem was no one that was offering their own advice was telling anyone about this person which is understandable. Sometimes it €™s a matter of trying to find that one person out there that would be most helpful working in some small corner of the world €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦..time and risk are inversely related. Chances are the more time you spend the less risk you will take moving forward.

Everyone here is offering good advice. Just keep collecting more and more of it. Then start cross referencing that advice as you start to compile it all over time.

Best wishes to you.

Thanks Cat,
I am researching non stop and I have read your older posts. Too bad I never read them before I went down this road.
I never found the forums when I was researching SMP before I took the plunge
All I saw was videos and pictures that looked great. So many of them were from Scalp Aesthetics and there was a clinic 50 miles away. How could I go wrong, A permanent fix to improve the quality of life and confidence as their advertising stated.
Upon consultation the owner seemed terrific and knowledgeable. He had had a bad experience himself and had the scar to prove it.
He assured me I would look great and he was the best after doing hundreds of successful treatments.
The only negative feedback was one video on utube.
So I took a chance and now my life will never be the same. Hopefully after laser which I will absolutely need if I ever want to remove my hat, I wil not have scarring.
I guess its all about the artist performing the procedure. Mine was a con artist.

Tech there is another forum that has had a few cases of the blue head. Let me sound the alarm there and see if someone will reply. Trouble is many of these guys move on €¦ €¦ €¦..some find a solution and others no one really knows what happened as they don't come back.

It €™s actually better to find the customers who have actually gone through what you are currently going through. They have a lifetime anchor to what you are feeling so that feeling is instantly brought to the surface which tends to make them a bit more passionate and honest in most cases.

I know one patient posted about his experience with a outfit down in Florida where it turned his head blue hopefully he will respond. Funny thing about it is one could easily be drawn into something that might not be what it appears to be on the surface. The person running this place was pictured in a white coat and working under a microscope as if he was some type of chemist. He even had a unique name to his formula similar to what you see in ht with all the different names for fue. If one were to research deeper they would have found out this same guy was pinstriping cars and selling air brush paintings (true story) €¦ €¦ €¦for all anyone knows he could have been selling the stuff on the side of the road.

Point being you have to dig deeper and find out where the advice is coming from and more about who you are dealing with. If I receive any replies I will post them here.

Hi Tech,

The SMP can make many changes in the first 2 weeks to 90 days. But, lets not get too focused on that because so many good solutions for repair exist. And, you have access on this forum to many great practitioners who are all here to help and guide you. If he is using a carbon based pigment that sounds like tattoo ink. Which is great. It should laser off fairly easily. PM me your location and I can start doing some research on who we know that can help you in your area.

Topcat, I'm sad to hear when patients lose hope and think that no solutions for repair exist. Particularly, because many solutions do exist and not everyone in this industry is out to hurt them. I guess I'd caution tech from commiserating and have him focus on seeking solutions. While I always value your input as someone who comes from a place of seeming genuine love and concern for other hair loss sufferers and also someone who has a first hand experience dealing with the ugly side of this industry. We can't become too jaded and lose sight of the fact that some of us are good guys who genuinely also deeply care for patients and are here to change lives not just make a buck. SMP is great procedure in the hands of experienced and responsible doctors and practitioners . And, first hand knowledge of the science of this procedure combined with the experience of performing thousands of procedures and repairs - I think he is better off seeking solutions from the experts rather than other pts. Just because people see the doctor doesn't make them the doctor. Respectfully, Nicole

Hi tech,

Everyone is different, and as bad as this is for you right now try as much as you can to live your life without much change; don ´t let it beat you.

Fortunately we know there is a way to fix your problem, not particularly what you went into this thinking, but it does work. Hair transplant repairs can come with many more concerns and some can never get back to a stage where the person feels "fixed", again unfortunately.

Keep on with your research and find an experienced clinic in SMP removal to get this put behind you.

Nicole thanks for your input. Both our opinions and experiences are probably different. I have found that it is best for patients to collect as much information as possible from as many sources as possible and then make their own decision based on logic. Hopefully we are on the same page with that particular point...........all the best to you Topcat

Tech there was a doctor on this forum that tattooed the letter Z on his arm. It kind of reminded me of the movie Mark of Zorro and that is why I remember it. I liked the movie when I was a kid. The guy would do all kinds of good deeds and then put a giant Z somewhere to let everyone know he was there not something easily forgotten.

Maybe you can ask him to update his thread to see how the color has changed. It €™s been over a year so it might be helpful. The ink he used might be slightly different and I believe it has been described as safer etc, regardless it could be of value.
