Uneven grafts placement in temples

Hello Guys,

This is my first post on here and was hoping to get some feedback on my concern.

I'm coming up to near 4 weeks post my tranplant and it appears that the number grafts placed in my left temple are less than my right. This is visible by the area being light and not as dense as the right temple.

I've posted some pictures below, which also are from the day after the procedure which shows the scabs on my left less and lighter than the right hand side, which makes me sure that it's not me shedding more from that area..

Take a look guys and let me know what you think, as I'm always very critical of myself:

I understand it's not a huge deal, but when you paid you money you'd hope they would atleast get the temples even, so I'd not have one patchy and thin...kinda defeats the reason why I had it done.

Thanks in advance!

It is difficult to judge density based on photos showing the scabbing, and by the time they are gone, you've also lost a fair number of hairs to shedding. Does it look thinner? A bit, but by the time it all grows in the difference (assuming there is one) will be mostly inconsequential to your final result. Don't beat yourself up over small issues like this and give it the time it deserves to heal, mature and give you a final result.

Thank you for the response @JoeTillman

My theory was the scabs are where the grafts were implanted, so if there are less in that region, then less grafts = less density. I've attached a pic that was taken yesterday ( only trimmed the back and sides at barbers) and seeing that I'm just over the 4 weeks post HT I have had minimal shedding, but the area still appears thinner.

I understand this may or may not be an issue when it grows out, but i really hope the temple does thicken like the other side over time, as it would be a shame if I still looked liked I was loosing hair in my temple after I'd gone through the effort and process of getting a HT to fix that in the first place.

Looking at your pictures the left side does look slightly less dense in the scabbed image but not all incisions result in scabbing and some scabs are larger than others. As Joe says, wait it out, once grown in any difference me be that slight you won`t even notice.
It would be great if you could keep the forum updated on your progress.

All the best.

@Bigmac Thanks for the response.

I hope this isn't a big issue once it grows out, but I'm thinking of wearing my hair short like a grade one, so my concern it would show more in the future, at this lenght.

I'm currently at week 9 and just finishing up with the shedding, so waitng for it to grow now.

My left side ( the side that I posted thIs thread about) has also shedded more than the right, so I hope this doesn't prove my intial point.

But for now, I'm trying to remain positive!

I'm also getting these horrible spots in the hairline, quite paiful with pus in them, possible ingrown hair? is there any advice on how to deal with these?

thanks!

Sound like it could be Folliculitis, antibiotics can be used to treat it if it is. You can try yourself to treat first though with a very warm cloth applied to the area two to three times a day for several minutes at a time......however If they don't go away or get worse, then you should call your ht surgeon so they can have a look and treat it. On the plus side they won't hinder your growth but would be best to get it treated if it continues.
