Tattoo over scar (not smp)

Family and few friends new was having it done anyway so not so much of a shock but everyone spoke to seem to like it and it’s one of those things that just becomes part of you. No doubt if I walked around with my scar showing instead of using concealers and product people would get used to it. But I have done it for me and as I said before hopefully I can put it behind me now. It’s not for everyone but shows there is this sort of option out there for people.

Yes it is an option, hopefully this thread will help others looking for a solution.

Now you can enjoy life without thinking about that scar.

Thanks for posting about it and sharing the pictures.

It was dr feller new York
I wasn't gonna mention names but,whatever
I have sent him pics of the scar etc,he is not interested in it one bit..
Spex told me to go to him cos he said all uk clinics are poor, this was in 2008 and 2010 so not really that long Ago.
Funny that spex is no longer associated with Dr feller ?
I know a lot of people have had good experiences with spex,I have not

Also my angles of the work I had with Dr feller are bad, again he dosnt want to know
Now I know I'm gonna to get(your hair looks good,if u grow your hair u can't see the scar etc etc
That's not the point
it was unethical for dr feller to give me a second scar, also in person my hair looks terrible ie angles, but spex and dr feller seem to think it looks good
Anyhow I'll look into beard hair etc
Thanks

Feller is washed up, and has been for years. On another forum I won’t mention he vociferously argued against Fue, and probably still does, simply because he can’t perform it. Once I saw that his credibility was shot. Furthermore, on this same forum, there was a gentleman from England (and I realize this person could be you) who had what I considered to be a full head of hair, just a tiny bit of hairline recession, and he went on and on about the “severe depression” his hair was causing him, and sure enough, weeks later he posts he got a transplant from Feller. I thought that was unethical and taking advantage of him, probably was Spex messaging him, who knows? This industry is littered with bad actors, there are only a few I trust. Shapiro and
Konior for sure, and Dr. Umar has the requisite skill and experience to be the only one I trust for beard hair, although Bisanga in Belgium has a good rep, and a few in India seem to be pretty skilled at it. However, only a few would I consider skilled enough to get the results with beard you are paying a lot of $ for, so it’s even more of a mine field to navigate

Wylie. Do you mind posting pics of your results of beard transplants into your scars. Would be interesting to see as I have not come across any pics in research where scars are well camouflaged with beard transplants. ?

I was told to style my hair so it look good
I was young and just agreed with spex and dr feller
My 2nd and last up with Dr feller made everything worse
I tried to explain to spex and dr feller
They just washed there hands of me

And this is what this industry is like. Would never trust anyone in it again. People get your hopes up with options and because your desperate you go for it. No disrespect to wylie but keep saying about these beard transplants and sorted your multiple scars out but would be nice to see the evidence of that so it might help someone else in situation. I hope it has worked out for him and rid him of scars but I would be surprised once shaved down that you can’t see anything. I have yet to see that good a result on anyone only the fake pics these ‘hair Transplant ‘ clinics put on their websites. And on another note if that was spex that did that he should know better with all the things he’s been through himself. They don’t think anymore of long term effects of patient just as long as the money is coming in !

Don’t put words in my mouth, okay? I never said that my scars are invisible, for Christ sake. I’m happy with the improvement, very happy, and really don’t give a shit what anyone else thinks. That’s the whole point, right? You can see my scars, but they are not nearly as obvious as they used to be. I’m not trying to convince anyone to do anything, just documenting my experiences.

Wow. Calm down. All I’m trying to say is you talk a lot about these things but would be nice to see results of what your talking about. Nobody’s going to judge anyone on here as we are all in shit situations. Its all about learning from other people’s experiences and educating others so they don’t make same mistakes. If you don’t want to put pics or take offence by someone asking just say instead of blowing your lid or leave the topic. To me if someone is saying they have had good results through something would be nice to see so they might go down same route and use same docs etc. That’s why I put all mine up on here in first place. To get advice and feedback and if someone wants to judge me by what I have done that’s their choice. Not going to start throwing my toys out of the pram !

It's all good, all that matters is that you're happy with your result. You're happy with yours, I'm happy with mine, and everyone is on a sliding scale. What are one mans problems are another mans dream. I'm glad you're happy with your result, if you wanted concealment of your scar, you got that times 10. Congrats on putting that behind you. It's always a huge relief when someone can be comfortable again after being unhappy with your result.

That`s a big tattoo, very brave of you to have this done and show it off on here. The left side middle small leaf along your scar has a hint of blueish colour.
Have you noticed it?

Think it must just be photo or the cream shining as not like that in person.

Where did you have this SMP done?
The color seems too dark.
Had it done local to try it out first before tattoo option. It was done only around a month before tattoo so probably needed to fade down. And to be fair to the guy that done it he had to do it with my hair long as I wasn’t confident to shave down at time so think it was difficult to pick up the natural shade of the dots as couldn’t see what the dots of my hair looked like if that makes sense.

So it wasn't actual SMP, it was an attempt done by a Tattoo Artist right?

I have a strip scar to conceal as and i'm looking into SMP to just conceal the scar and sides, but all the pictures online are done by the SMP practitioners when they finish the work and not 3 or 4 years after it has been done.

I don't want to create a new problem on top of the one i already have.

Yes. It was done by a trained smp practice but because I always had the tattoo as a back up I thought I would give it a go as would be less drastic if it did work. Personally I think u might get some camouflage on it but I think u will always notice there was something there. Just my opinion. Smp practices will prob tell u different for obvious reasons.

4 awesome repairs with SMG
Jimbob i have lots of tattoos myself and think your new head tattoo looks cool. I realize it might not be to everyone's taste as it's large and on the head, but in today's day and age tattoo's are fashionable so not many people will give it a second thought......especially if you grow the top part a little longer as it won't be as obvious then (although i personally think its cool as is).

For what it's worth i have a strip scar too..... but mine was a very good one and not very noticeable at all thanks to my repair with Shapiro. That being said i still struggled to have a very short (grade 1) shaven back and sides haircut which i do like without it showing. I had SMP into mine and although it's still visible i think it looks good and it no longer bothers me when i shave my hair very close at the back and sides.

I want to stress though that i believe Shapiro did an excellent job at improving my scar from when i got butchered many years ago and even without the SMP i could go pretty short without it being noticeable.

I also want to stress it looks like my strip scar is very low in this pic which isn't actually the case it just difficult to take a pic without leaning your head forwards with a phone.

Wow, I'm amazed of how you want to jump from a "little" scar, to a massive tattoo. Honestly I believe that even if you do this tattoo the scar will still be noticeable, you have to consider that the light doesn't reflect equally in those areas with hair than in bald skin so at the end of the day the area of the scar can be more obvious.

If it was me I would give a chance to FUE on the scar, you can improve a lot having a good procedure with good growth, the following are some examples of how HDC clinic approaches this issue.

Escar. Who are you referring to ? Do you realise I have already had the tattoo ? As you say ‘even if you do this the scar will still be noticeable and the light would effect it differently ‘ ? To me in person and pics I have put on there it looks like it seems to covered it quite well. Also I have talked about in previous posts why I didn’t want to get back into hair transplant industry.
