Hello my question is I want to clipper my hair a no 1 or 2 guard cos I've had 3 hair transplants which are ok but when long the hair looks thin stringy looking
Can I clipper short and the transplanted hair still look natural and sit flat on my head?or will it stick upwards
Thanks guys

I believe if your transplanted grafts were inserted at the correct angles they should grow in a natural direction. if they grow straight up they probably been inserted wrong although when my hair is buzzed down short the hairs do seem to stick up a little until they grow a bit longer.
When you say stringy, do you mean it looks thin? Who did your hair transplants as it may be wise to ask them how your hair will look.

Hello mate thanks for getting back 2 me
Dr feller in New York did them
When long yeah its thin cant really style it
It does stick upwards cos I find it difficult 2 style
I've tried to speak 2 dr feller but he wasn't really helpful
Noticed that alot when people who have had hair transplants with him and were not happy

Hi Phil. If you have clippers at home maybe you could try it while we are in lockdown. The hair should lay flat unless it has been transplanted wrong. Have you a picture to show your hair as it is now?

Hi mate
When my hair is cut short not shaved my transplants stick upwards and curl to one side compared to the front tuff of my hair which lays flat
Also I have thin area around the transplanted hair
Also scars show and I have that step look in the back of my head from the scars
I've tried to grow hair long but the only style I can get is that classic comb over to one side cos of the direction also hair is fine looking
All I was after was a short back and sides touch longer on top with a better hairline
I've no pics at mo also dont want to shave down in case looks bad and effects me going to work as I'm a key worker
So difficult situation I'm in

Bit of a tricky situation you find yourself in. Do you have a regular barber who knows about your hair transplants? If so, maybe they can advise on what hair cut would work best. My old Norton plugs in my crown grow straight up like Palm trees. Anything more than a few centimeters long and my hair looks weird. It will be a trial and error thing I reckon to get what suits you best.
I have to use hair products to flatten it if it grows longer than I like it.

Thanks for quick reply
I've tried all the things u said
Nothing really worked
I was thinking of removing all the transplants put some in the scars I have then with the rest create a new maturer hairline that grow in correct direction and looks good and natural when very short ?

Your hair looks ok from the side but looking down from above I can see thin patches.
I’ve not had anything done, so I’m no expert but I can’t see which bits are growing the wrong way. Can you point it out?

If u look at side profile my right side u can clearly see it sticking outwards
Nightmare to style

Hi Phil. How many grafts approximately would need removing and re-planted elsewhere? Has any doctor recommended this as a viable option for you?

The pics u see have I was told were 3200 grafts
Reckon I would like the lot removed
I've been to see dr ball really nice guy
He said best option would be 2 shave down and have smp
I understand what hes saying as it would be cheapest option for me but
But I would just like to have options iof hair styling ie shaved down sometimes and maybe grow when I want

Is it possible to remove that many grafts from the front of your head? Wouldn’t it leave leave loads of scars?

Hi mate
I'm not sure
Was thinking of laser or electroyis but I would be wasting grafts
Differcult position
What dr feller should have done was to remove all the transplants I had ie 400 grafts which was from a different surgeon and he also should have done fue as I only had a receding hairline.
What he gave me was another scar above my old one and poorly angled transplants

I’ve seen many pictures of people with scars all over their heads. As in your case, is this because they are taking from a fresh area to obtain as many grafts as possible? I’ve seen some where they take the same scar out multiple times leaving just the one scar if your scalp is stretchy enough.
Electrolysis seems a waste but could be your best option, I don’t really know.
Why did you not get Fue when you had this done?

I had my first procedure in 2001
In uk got low thick strip scar and only 400 grafts 200 in each receded area
Looked wirey and bad angles
Went to dr feller in 2008 and 2010
He did another strip scar above the low one and tried to cover the 400 grafts i had in the uk with total of 3000 grafts ?
Didn't work in my opinion still angles are all wrong
He didn't even mention fue to me

Did he say why he never cut the strip from the first strip?
Did you have a consultation where you were told you were getting another strip? 400 grafts back in 2001, this before Fue was available if my research is correct.

He said the scar was too low 2 take it which is fair enough
No there was only a consultation with spex then I went to New York to have the op with the doc
I didn't know nothing about hair transplants back in 2001
I didn't have internet
Trusted everybody back then
Not now
