Minoxidil and scarred hair

When I was a child I lost a lot of hair due to scarring / trauma as a result of scratching my mid scalp and crown. Should I consider using minoxidil before HT?

All medications have potential side effects, some lower than others. A small percentage of people do get them with hair loss meds. If you do try meds you may experience enough improvement that you don’t need a hair transplant.
Are you saying your hair has been like this since childhood?
How old are you now?

At what age was your hair looking like this? Do you think the loss is progressing?

Yeah, none have mentioned min just about how many grafts it would take to fill out , 2000-2500 mostly

Crowns can use up a lot of grafts. Have you a picture with dry hair?
The decision has to be yours on whether you think minoxidil will help. Finasteride works best on crowns, it has worked well for me.
Are you considering fue or fut?

If your loss has not continued from your childhood years then the follicles will most likely be dead. Have you ever had your scalp checked by a dermatologist or tricologist?
2000-2500 should give you a decent enough coverage that will create a good illusion and help hide the scalp.
