Homemade topical questions

hello, what do you think about home topical, a mixture of minoxidil with finasteride? because I cannot take tablets, and I have no topical products in Poland, and if they are expensive, thanks and I count on the opinions of people who used something like this, best regards.

I had been taking 1mg Finasteride per day orally, but i experienced some unwanted side effects.

I tried making a topical mixture of minoxidil and Finasteride. I crushed 60mg of Finasteride into 60ml of Minoxidil. I was applying this once per day.

However, I found this to be less effective than taking oral Finasteride. I found some hair loss, and i'm not sure if this oral solution helped at all. On the positive side, there were no side effects either! (I have read that many people have benefitted from topical Finasteride).

However, since then, i have been taking 0.5mg of Finasteride per day orally, and this seems to be effective for me, with no side effects.
Then I purchased a supply of 5mg Finasteride tablets, and divide each into 4. I take one of those every other day.
So at the moment I am taking 1.25mg every other day. I don't notice any side effects like this either.

Not sure if that helps you, but good luck.

Hi,
There are some good reasons why your topical solutions did not work. It is quite technical.
I would speak either to a pharmacist or a dr. to find out why your solution does not work, and can not work if you used it in the way you described.

Thanks. Personally, i am happy to take it orally now. And I would be reluctant to change something that seems to be working.

Have you experienced any sides?
Are you required to have any ongoing blood tests to monitor for any changes or abnormalities?

Reducing the dose per day seems to work when 1mg gives sides.

As per my post above, 1mg Fin seemed to give me some sides, but now I would say I have no sides, on around 0.6 mg per day.
I have not had any blood tests at all for this, I didn’t know that was a possibility. Hopefully it’s not necessary at the moment.

That’s what I meant, on the lower dose. It’s good to hear no sides on this lower dose. As for tests, it’s not necessary but I thought I’d ask as quite a few people do have them.

Hi Bigmac,
So people have blood tests on Fin ?

It can have an effect on red blood cell count or interfere with other tests you might be having.
