Thanks for confirming the post-op washing and care. The spray shampoo sounds good. Quite a few are worried when washing their hair for the first few days and this will/should solve that problem.

12 Day update.

I have stuck to the post op after care of applying the shampoos and creams.

It was a nice feeling to wash off the scabs.

Pics of both transplanted area and donor - side pic of donor area not the best due to me having lots of grey hairs in this area.

Looks great! It does not look as though you have shed any hairs yet, still looks very full. They might continue to grow.

It’s only been 12 days.
when I shampoo the grafts and apply the aftercare creams I do get a few hairs on my fingers .
not shedding would be like winning the lottery ! However I’m fully expecting abs prepared for it.

Thanks for updating. Keep washing and massaging well now and the hair should mostly fall and usually be totally gone by week 4. Don't be shy now to really encourage the hair to shed and don't worry when it does..it is only saying bye for now..

Your post-op healing looks great. The transplanted area is showing you what you can expect when this grows out. It’ll be a big difference from your pre-op look. As Stephen says, if they shed, it’s not goodbye, but, see you again soon.

1 month update.
2 days short of 1 month since my procedure. The first month has flown by and all my concerns of worrying about what folk will think & how will I hide it completely went out of the window ! I’ve really not been bothered and likewise nobody else has been bothered to look or ask. It was certainly better looking before the shedding started and at the moment it looks worse than ever but still not bothering me and I go about my business everyday without wearing a hat (unless it’s sunny).
I do think that due to my native hair growing it makes it stand out more so I’m thinking of buzzing the top, back & sides down a little ? ? ? Thoughts please ?
As expected the shedding started around 2 weeks and continued to do so.
Not all the grafts have shed and although sparse they have slightly grown.
The one thing that both myself and my wife have noticed is that upon close inspection and if you zoom in on the images you can see small stubbly hairs just popping through the skin - these are where I was completely bald so I can only presume that they are very small transplanted hairs that have not shed although they do seem smaller than the transplanted hairs that did shed, maybe I just didn’t notice them.
The donor area looks no different than it did prior to my procedure. If anything it’s become itchy but nothing that bothers me.
The biggest pain is the redness, I continue to apply Aloe Vera and I’m sure given time it will settle down.
On we go … I won’t be obsessing and looking in the mirror to often , I will carry on with my day to day activities and let time pass.

I know it is difficult to stop staring every 5 mins, try to keep yourself sane by not watching too much though I would recommend. I was pretty obsessed the first months and I know for my next transplant I will take care of it the first weeks, then just start watch again after 4-5 months.

Late reply by me. Everything is looking quite normal for one month post-op. I see some nice big zits. These and the small stubbly hairs could be a sign of early growth. Fingers crossed for that.
Redness is quite evident, hopefully, this has subsided a bit these past 2 weeks. Your hair is quite short and even as is. I’d probably wouldn’t shave it down just yet.
It’s good you’re not bothered about people seeing your head. Most people don’t take much notice at all, it’s usually Judy our own paranoia.
Anyway, glad things are progressing and I’ll look forward to your next update.

2 month Update.

exactly 2 months today since my procedure with Dr Bisanga. I’ve totally switched off from it and not been at all bothered in terms of trying to hide it.
with permission from the clinic I have buzzed it down which makes it blend in and look much better. I actually really like it that way !
With it only being 2 months there is obviously nothing to report on in terms of growth but the redness has really faded and settled down.
On the below pics I have not buzzed it for 2 weeks, it usually looks and blends in better when it’s buzzed down.

The donor looks absolutely untouched with no issues whatsoever.

I started taking oral minoxidil about 1 month before the procedure and I certainly feel like something is happening . My beard has really thickened up and more hairs across my cheekbones which I don’t mind at all.
I think my hairs and toes have more hairs ?

I have also most definitely grown baby type thin hair on the side of my head from my temple points to my eyebrows on both sides. They are not really visible unless you look closely but they are certainly there.
Let’s hope the minoxidil also works on the head.

Unless I had found old beard photos it would be hard to compare in photos as it’s already thickened up to how it was.
I’m just hoping it works on my head too.
