This patient featured in the TV series ´The Hair Loss Clinic´. His story is available to watch on Quest Red and the Discovery+ streaming service. He came to see Dr. Ball concerned about a missing patch of hair in the front and mid scalp. The results seen here are 12 month following FUE hair transplant surgery using 1844 grafts. He is on finasteride to prevent further loss.

He emailed me the comment below.

"The reaction from the TV program has been good. So many people just interested how it was all done really and you can really see a massive difference.
I'm so happy with my hair :) it’s amazing"

David

@loui Care to comment on number of grafts used and density?
I should not derail this thread, but a photo is easy to spot the difference. It is a much bigger area in the frontal third to fill with that planning on the right.

Dr Ball is known to do wonders with less grafts used, not everyone can do this.

Btw great work Dr Ball.

Amazing result.

I wondered how many grafts were used when I watched the show and expected the number to be higher than that.

Frontal third requires 2.5k-3k for what many would consider adequate density?

Bobbins, please do not derail this thread. If you wish to discuss grafts numbers and density please start a thread on the subject.
You can comment on the above result.

David. This is a nice result with the number of grafts used. It’s good to hear the patient is happy with the result.
I see he still has some slight thinning behind the transplanted area going towards his crown. Was the surgical plan to see if Finasteride would improve this area?

Also, what episode was the patient on?
