Need your opinion on number of grafts

Hi,
After losing hair for a few years now I am seriously considering HT and been going through alot of the posts in this forum.

I am in my initial research stages and reached out to 1-2 clinics but wanted to know how many grafts you think I might need? Some clinics mentioned might require 2 sessions?

I will also be in Turkey and UK in a few months and was hoping you might recommend clinics that can handle my hair status.

Your hair seem to diffusely thinning. You are heading Norwood 7 it looks like, the most advanced hair loss type and it will be a difficult case for anyone and a difficult decision for you if you really want to go the multiple hair transplant route or not.

Hopefully you can stabilize on Finasteride, you might want to keep cool for another year or so and see how you progress. You still have lots of hair that you want to keep.

Do you have any more photos of the donor area, the lower sides and nape?

Thanks and appreciate your feedback! Here are some more images.
Had some side effects with oral Fins so just been using topical Fin/Min combo which hasn't had much affect.
Was hoping I would be able to do a HT.

It all depends on your expectations aswell, if you might be fine with filling the frontal third and get less coverage in the crown, it will keep progressing though and your safe zone as a Norwood 6/7 is limited.

For cases like yours it is a little uncertain, but that said there is lots of clinics who try to reverse advanced hair loss types as you are like Dr Zarev, Eugenix and Hattingen is some clinics who post regulary Norwood 6 and 7 cases.

You might need something like 6000-8000 grafts and possibly more in the future.

I think you should give oral minoxidil a go, it could potentially thicken things up alot and reduce the number of grafts. Eugenix would be a good shout. I do think 8,000 would not be out of the question if you had that many available. I would suggest you have an in person consultation as your donor does not look like it could handle 8,000. Possibly more to 5,000 if you are suitable for a large scale FUE.

Hello @Tadoom, you are going to have to lay out in your own mind your goals and expectations. As I am sure you are going to be met with differing assessments. In your case, an in-person assessment would strongly be advised. Simply from your pictures. Your donor hair. Even though you have some hair length, around one side your scalp is visible through your hair length. This can mean you have naturally finer hair, which you do. Or, the follicular unit density is lower than average, and the hair count is also lower than average. Or, a mix of all aspects. Then around the base sides and nape area, how much hair miniaturisation do you have now, and is it creeping up into what would be considered a safe extraction area. Retrograde alopecia, could simply be softer hair calibre at present. Does not make for good hair transplant hair. This will lead to measuring the overall safe donor zone, especially if considering FUE only. Taking into consideration further hair loss changing the size of the donor area from today.

When planning. You still have decent hair coverage in areas. Your hairline position is not too high judging from the pictures. Maybe consider not lowering. As that will eat into your graft count. Probably reducing the hair coverage you can achieve further back. Maintaining your existing hair will play an important role in hair distribution. So, continued use of treatment has to be recommended. Otherwise, you risk a very different plan if considering a hair transplant. But, it is important to consider the points regarding your donor hair quality. Hope your research goes well.
