Hi mate, how you getting on?
Any update mate?Hi All,
So it's about 11 weeks (2.5 months) since the procedure and since my last post to sum it up I basically shed completely. It was almost smooth on the transplant area in the temples at one point with some light redness which has been fading slowly.
In the Sun
During this time I've been abroad to help my girlfriend move home and been out in +30C heat for 2 weeks, albeit not constantly out in the sun. I think I had two full days in the sun the rest of my exposure was as and when.
I have a ginger/red beard but a sort of dirty blonde/ginger/brown tint in my natural hair colour but I don't burn in the sun or in the heat so if you do, I guess just take extra care. I was just trying to responsible by wearing sun cream to protect the area as much as possible, but I can confirm to anyone who has any concerns that all has been completely fine. I've been able to cover over my transplant areas with my native hair so that has also helped.
Progress
I would say that I've progressed a little. I have some hairs coming through and I didn't look closely for around 4 weeks to see if I could notice differences when the time came and I definitely did this past weekend. My first peak close up was quite promising and gave me a bit of confidence. It's small progress but it has surprised me. See below for some pictures I've taken and labelled for clarity of each stage (couldn't find my pics of my temple at week 6).
Hairstyle/Cuts
I must admit I went rather short on my first cut at about 6 weeks post procedure. The back was probably less than a 2 but I felt like it looked ok. Within a few days it naturally grew in enough to make me feel completely fine at that length but to protect the area I would not go so short in future at least for the first 12 months. The front I left wavy with a bit of length so I could cover over the transplant area just as I mentioned before. I think I've found a style that suits me enough for now. Doesn't take too long to style but I just need to stay out of the strong winds like before haha.
I had a cut at the weekend there and took the back to about a 3 which is definitely more comfortable at this stage.
Hope this helps anyone in their journey or with any decisions. Let me know what you think or if I should take note of anything.

Hello All,
Been a while but here's my update at 5 months since the procedure. I started the 5th month feeling like there wasn't much growth and it was still patchy looking, I guess many people feel the same nervousness throughout. It's hard to just sit back and trust the process when you're always comparing your progress to others' so I did my best not to look and just cover over the area as I normally would.
I did take a peak about a week ago and noticed there had been quite a bit of growth but still some patchier areas. Strangely as the days went past over the last week or so I felt like there was a decent bit of change again and I feel like it's in a much better place. My only concern is that the density may not be enough but I also know that there are potentially still many hairs to come through and it will take the next 7 months to thicken.
Here's some photos I took at the weekend there.
Thanks
S
Hi Dave, to be honest I'd tried not to look around much and trust that my results would come through in time. I felt a bit better in the last few weeks seeing some of the strands come through more clearly. Having seen a few of Bisanga's results I'm now a little concerned to be honest as I in no manner expected or want to need a top up off the back of this first process. That is not what I was sold.Whilst I fully appreciate that 5 months is relatively early in the process- growth and density is lower than I would have hoped for at this stage, certainly when comparing to many others.
whilst I fully accept that everyone's hair grows at different rates and no 2 results are the same, there does appear to be a large number of Dr Arshad patients with less than ideal results and poor yields, especially given the graft count and several accepting they need a top up. we simply don't see this with the likes of Bisanga etc.
I appreciate that the clinic offer a "lifelong" service and no charge for a top up procedure but how / why are there so many results lately simply not up to the mark for an "approved" surgeon?
I'm not trying to cause concern or cast aspersions but it is clear to see that many patients results are simply not good enough.
I hear you!Just based on my current perception my progress has stalled. There are definitely some hairs popping through but we are talking a few on each side (I am a NW 3ish).
Density just isn’t there for me.
I know it’s hard for us mate we just have to hang in there, and see where we are at.
I can understand Dave_2022 post above because there seems be a quite a few of us in the same situation? It would seem unlikely on the face of it to be coincidence?
I didn’t change anything and yes I had my procedure with Dr Arshad. I like you was very worried at first because I saw others growing faster than me. I then stumbled on a video of a slower grower patient that saw big improvement from month 12 onwards so I just thought I’d hold tight and put myself down to being a slow grower. The video is on here somewhere give slow grower a search on this forum to check it out.I hear you!
Have we got others who genuinely have been through the same clinic and at our stage had the same growth levels to find success even further down the line without top ups etc?
This is very concerning. @Baldingman23 I believe you also used the same clinic right? Do you have any more information on what to expect for the next few months? Did you change anything?
