Hi,
At what month did you notice your hairs growing, and when would you have said it made a visible difference?

Thanks for the positive support, much appreciated.

I would say at about 5 months it began to be slightly more noticeable, however, I would have one or two days where I felt it was looking thicker then a day where it seemed to be back to normal. In all honesty, I was concerned it wasn't growing quick enough until I saw a video on Youtube from a guy who echoed my thoughts at 6 months only to experience super growth by his 9 month video update. Dr Ball was impressed with the 5 month growth so I should have just stopped worrying and listened to the expert.

Two things to note, 1: I have noticed my eyelashes are looking much thicker these days (assume Propecia related?) which is a nice bonus and secondly, I was taking ZMA supplements for the gym until I ran out and since I stopped the growth seemed to have kicked on (but of course that coincided with the 6 month stage where it began to get more noticeable so most likely just coincidence)

Thanks for your reply.
I have actually been following your thread for some months, as I am at the 4month mark after a HT, and hair characteristics and HT are very similar to yours, as well as being similar age.
And at 4months, I can certainly see some new hair coming through, and at times it's sort of noticeable , but in all honesty I'm a little worried its not growing how it should, but your comments help. I guess everyone goes through this. It's hard to be totally rational over something so important to yourself.
Do you feel the scar has faded away and is invisible in most circumstances now?

Sounds like exactly the same thing I went through. Have you tried looking at the before pics to see the comparison? I was quite shocked when I saw the difference a few months back. As for the scar, its usually quite difficult for people to find even when I tell them where to look. I will get a pic next time I am around someone who knows I had the procedure, should be by the weekend. Where did you have it done and how many grafts?

Sorry I forgot to mention - I had Dr Ball too, and 2,200 grafts, hence my partic interest in yours. (Dr Ball --> really top guy btw)
I am diffused in the frontal half (not crown) and the HT was done inside my existing hairline , like yours, so I'm finding it tricky to tell what is new hair, what was there already.
I haven't been very disciplined with my photos - but I can tell the difference in certain ones, but like all photography, lighting and angle are so important.
I'm looking forward to my 5 month update , to hear it front him.
So would you say between months 4-8 , you saw continuous progression? And is the outcome looking to be as good as you hoped?

+1 for Dr Ball, a great guy - so knowledgeable.

Certainly 6-8 has been the most noticeable period, proof in the pudding is certainly in the pics from that period onwards compared to 0-6 months.

As for the outcome, it is tricky to answer - simply as I had no idea what to expect, I had no preconceived ideas. Sure, I had hopes and the current outcome I am more than happy with. I can only assume now the overall thickness increases but if it stopped today I would be more than satisfied.

Hi guysI am 6 weeks today post HT with Dr Ball (a legend), and am really pleased to hear you are both progressing well, gives me a lot of hope, time sure goes slowly.
One question if I may, I still have quite a few transplanted hairs left, is this ok? Of note I have healed every where with no problems along the way.I wish you both amazing growth!!FTG;)

For the girls indeed :)

Hard to say for me, however I did see someone about 2/3 weeks afterwards and they did comment my hair was looking thick, not sure they lasted 6 weeks though. Of all the timeframes I have seen for various stages (e.g. swelling reduction, scabs falling out) I have always been far closer to the end of the timescale than the beginning.

All the best to you,

Not the best pic, but it shows just the faintest bit of pink left in the colour

Looking good, just a hint of pinkness there.

Thanks for keeping us up to date on your progress.

9 months in and to be honest, it`s gone pretty quick. Nothing majorly new to report it looks likes it`s thickening up nicely now, to the point where I can start to style it with a bit of wax or something I would have always previously avoided.

I am interested to see how much difference there will be between 9 and 12 months because I am more than happy with the results as they stand, even if they stopped improving today.
Anyway, a few pics below.
Thanks guys!

Looks great mate.
Re: the shot from the front, do you have one of you in that pose, before the op? Would be good to see the difference from that view.
Also - did Dr Ball do your HT with a hairline from within your existing hairline? So, didnt lower your hair, rather thickened it from within.
And must be great to use hair products again.

Hi,
Not the best comparison pic but only real one I could find.
Yes Dr Ball kept within the existing hairline (I originally requested it to be lowered but realised that he knew best - and I can't argue). I had previously spent the last few years worried about the receding, I had completely overlooked the fast it was thinning very rapidly.

Looking good at nine months, I'm glad you're happy so far. Being able to style your hair now makes a big difference to your confidence and appearance.
Thanks for the update.
