Hey again SL

Yeah Fredrik talked to Dr. Bisanga regarding the pain killers, and paracetamol family of drugs shouldnt be a problem. However the burning sensation is considerably better today, so I'm going to see if I can make it without too much medication.

After having seen the pictures, you still recomend a little Aloe Vera for the donor area?

I cant believe how much you have scabbed up, I was completely scab free by day 7, donor and transplanted area.

Good luck with the waiting for the hair to come through, its worth the wait.

Try not to look to far ahead time wise, just think 1/2 weeks ahead because it drives you crazy wishing it was 9/12 months down the line

Yeah i know right, damn scabs! I was warned though by the clinic, since I had a lot of liquids from the wounds the days after the procedure almost looked like it was infected, but was told it wodulnt cause a problem in regards to growths, so i take it easy :) In 2 days ill try to masage it gently, and hopefully a lot of it will fall off.

Hi Seb

Dont be rubbing the front of your head to hard buddy , just keep using the sprays and keeping it nice and clean , the scab crusts will fall off when ready just give it a few days more , this is all normal and thanks for the great pictures

Hi Sebastian, soak well in warm water, massage in circular motion with fingertips and the scabs will break up. No picking but let them fall.

Hey Dazzster26

Its a bit of an ambivalent feeling really. I really just wanna scrath and get them all out, on the other hand Im dead scared to even touch it by now, after avoiding it for a week now. But thanks a lot for the advice, greatly appreciated :)

Hey again SL

First of all thanks so much for keeping tabs on me, feels comforting :)

So tomorow its 8 days after my surgery and pr. my instructions I can use a shower on my recepient area and gently masage it. When you say soak you mean using the shower or just sticking my head in a bowl or something? (Mind you, I would be willing to do this!)

Christ, I am really scared to be touching it :) No bad thing can come of this I hope if I am just really gentle and just masage it very carefully?

Use a shower, if it is a high power one then just use your hands to shield the spray a little so the scalp gets wet without high pressure. Apply isobetadine spray directly to the scalp, leave for 3 mins and then massage in circular motion. Same again with shampoo.

You must massage to speed up healing and removal of debris and twice a day is fine. Being scared in normal but you will be fine. Also soaking in warm water is fine.

This will bring in the healing and shedding of transplanted hairs also.

Have to admit I found it strangely comforting when I gently rubbed the palm of my hand on the donor area and all the small pin prick scabs came off ( weird ) but I €™m not suggesting you do that as my scabs were tiny individual scabs and yours seem like big joined up scabs.

Maybe your surgeon had to go slightly deeper with the punch to get the whole hair and follicle out or maybe he used a bigger punch than my surgeon (who knows) try not to get fixated on it

Hi,

I went with BHR a couple of years ago and my head scabbed like yours. Alot of the crusts joined to make bigger crusts. I too was slightly anxious as it didn't look like some other peoples. I felt it looked more severe.

My HT grew out absolultely fine and I don't think you've got anything to worry about. Have a look on my thread for the pics if it will put your mind at ease.

Hey Martinvain

Just looked through your topic, our scabs looks almost identical :) And our hairloss resembles each other as well, really :) Anyways, comforting to hear it wont affect growth. I noticed in your thread that all your scabs were gone on day 8, you just masaged and sokaed the scabs?

I did my first soaking and masagin to day and got rid of like 1/4 of it. But the middle part is mostly dried up blood is gonna take some work it seems :)

Anyways cheers for the comforting thought, really appreciated :)

Yeah :D Not a bad group backing you, is it? :)

I cant help thinking sometimes - imagine if all customer support were like theirs, I'm sure there would be fewer wars :)

Anyways, cheers and thanks for the support!

What a difference a scalp massage does :DDD

Alright, this is definately the happiest moment so far for in this proces. Scared as I was, I embarked on my quest to actually start touching my recipient area, and using a shower head on it. I originally didnt plan to do much masaging, but after some great piece of advice from SL, i had soaked my head for an hour before i took my shower, so all the scabs were completely soaked and i could gently masage them out using circular motions (should have captured it while i was masaging really, my head resembled a bowl of oatmeal completely) - and heres the best part: THERE WAS HAIR BENEATH ALL THESE SCABS :DD

Yeah yeah I know there was supposed to be, but I was really starting to doubt it with this thick layer of scabs :)

Anyways, happy me, thanks for the advice and help again Fredrik and SL and all the great support. Now next part is probably gonna be the shedding!

Thanks so much Dazzster26 :)

Really appreciate your comments. Its amazing how vulnerable I have become in this healing proces. Anything that can be interpreted as a bad sign can just ruin my day, and any good sign just feels like the best thing that has ever happened :)

Anyways, cheers, and have a great weekend!

Looking good. Really appreciate the updates. I have a HT (2,000 grafts or so) with Dr. Bisanga in Feb-13 so am very interested in how you get along.

I have booked 2 weeks off work as well so looking forward to seeing your 2 week update.

Happy growing!!!

So 10 days have passed since my HT, and here how the healing is going. I'm really pleased with the healing in all areas. The donor areas seem to have almost recovered and the recipient area is of course a little red, but still seems to be recovering nicely - especially if you keep in mind how this areas was completely covered in crust just a few days ago :) Im washing donor and recipent area twice a day with betadine and then baby shapoo and i still add the Hydrocortisone to the donor area twice a day along with some aloe vera, which i also apply to the recipent area - although its a bit hard getting to the redness with all this hair :)

Also i still spray the recipent area every 2 hours.

I'm returning to work in 2 days, but with this amount of healing I dont think its gonne be much of a problem.

Thanks for all the support :)
