38 years old - prognosis?

Hi! I'm new to the forum. I know some of you will think what problem? We have it worse. And I realise that. But I'm 38 and my dad started to lose hair in his 40s. But I'm not sure I'm following his genes.

Do you see where it is thinning and can you tell me what the future is likely to be?

Thank you so much

Right now you have nothing to worry about. Just monitor your hair for signs of noticeable thinning as you age. If you have a regular barber you could ask them about it. They’ll let you know if your hair changes.
If it begins thinning you can check into hair loss prevention/maintenance meds.

It does not seem so. How did your father's hair look at age 38, similar than yours or worse?

I think it was similar then started to really go during his 40s. So I've gone on propecia and monoxidil in the hope I can delay that thank you for replying

The meds should help in slowing down any potential loss. With some luck, you won`t suffer any noticeable loss.

I don't think you can face the issue ...still you can get your scalp checked by consulting a good experienced surgeon and he/she can tell you if there is any miniature hairs in some pattern of mpb...its good to take care and be on meds but if there isn't an issue than i don't think medication is needed...its always a good thing to keep a watch and be on meds as soon as you find out some issue but without any issues i don't think you need to be on meds as there are some cons to it as well though all of them don't face it bt few of them do..so why to take drugs without any need...this is just my opinion and not a medical advice ..i would say that primary source for medical advice should be your doctor and i would request you to consult a good one..best of luck..

Am I missing something? It looks like you have an abundant head of hair, with no signs of any loss.

If you are on finasteride and oral minoxidil I don’t think you’ll ever need to worry about hairloss tbh it looks great. Maintenance is key for you but that’s all

In my opinion: if you actually do not have hair loss, there is no need and you should not be on medication.
