5396 grafts is a great amount for one surgery and is going to look super. How did it take to do.

Thanks, I was very lucky. It took nearly 14hrs, but I was very well looked after

Hi Fullness,

Thanks for posting your story on this forum it has been good to share your experience with you. it certainly looks like you have some new hairs sprouting through at this stage. The hairline ones are the easiest to spot and also the density is the highest so any early ones are usually seen here. You will be able to feel them over the months to come probably easier than you can see them.

Bet it felt great to get all those staples out. I don't know if I'd ever seen that many on a patient. You got a lot of grafts but you also got your whole head addressed with grafts. Good luck with healing and growth. Please keep us updated of your progress!

Thanks Janna, definitely felt good....that's the only time I had decent night sleep. I think think there were around 100 staples. Will keep the forum updated with progress.

Month 2:- Nothing much to report. I am now more or less pre-transplant state, except for the shock loss from the side. I would say 80% of grafts have shedded and no more are falling out. Parts of the recipient area still fells numbs. Got pimples popping out in crown so hopefully positive signs of growth. Scalp also feels itchy and dry, any advise how to overcome this is welcomed. All looks right on track, the shock loss on the sides will hopefully grow back soon. There are a few shampoos in the meds section/products which are good.

Keep an eye on the pimples. If you still have them after a week or so, contact H&W to get their method of treatment. They probably want to document it in your files as well. In the meantime, apply warm compresses to help your crown clear them up.

Thanks Janna for advice. All pimples are clear, just a itchy scalp at moment.

Month 3
OK guys, finally the big month 3. So heres some update pics below. On observation in recipient area I can see the shock loss hair returning and some of the new transplanted hairs creeping out, but on touch the area definitely is feeling stubbly, hoping thats a positive sign.Donor area is healing, but on occasions get spots, must be hair coming out. Area is still numb, but that is expected.Please have a look at pics and let me know what you guys think.
