A question?

Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice or thoughts on this - I am now just over the 3.5 months post surgery. - see my photo gallery. BUT Around the most interesting/exciting part.

My new hair is growing back but it is fine and tiny, however I have notice that some hairs in the implanted zone (fine ones) have shed and I notice this when I comb it or wash my hair - is this natural still? If the fine hairs still are shedding in the implanted zone is this normal? I was washing my hair earlier and notice that a grafted hair had shed (a bit late) but also looking at it notice how part of the hair shaft is thicker!?

If hair does fall out of the implanted zone....even if tiny and new hair...will it still grow back???

Hoping the follicle still remains intact within the scalp.

I have to ask, when washing your hair, how can you notice one single strand that has fallen out ?

I MASSAGE IT WITH my fingers - this came out when I combed it!

Hair falls out all the time when washing, no need to worry.

Yes even the implanted zone, you have native hairs there, also it could be a stalled hair that you have shown, relax and try not to worry.

Your grafts are well secure now dude and whatever falls out from here on in should grow back.

Thanks for reassurance - just wondering!! The grafts are the hairs that feel spikey and prickly! But just wondered as I did see some fine hairs shedding from the implanted area....but looks still the same .

Can I ask how often do you wash your hair? When you were 3 .5 months post surgery? Did you treat the newly growing transplanted hair differently or just shampoo the lot as normal? I assume it's ok to scrape your hair dry (obviously being careful) but I assume this won't ruin the fine tiny hairs that are growing? - before I was told only to dab it lightly not rub or scrape the hair dry. Also if it does still itch I was told to just rub with finger tips.

At 3.5 months it's ok to give the implanted area a scratch and to rub it dry with a towel (within reason) of course!?

Hey Supersmooth Im glad to know someone worries more than I.. LOL no offense..

When did your redness start to go?

With regard to stalled hairs does anyone have any info on these? Do they need to be plucked out?

If they are definately stalled hairs then they will come out with no force at all, just slide out they will. Massaging the area good while shampooing should do the trick.

Yes some feel a little spikey/stubble like - I don't know if they are stall hairs or not but in the implanted zone that's the case where as some are very fine grown and at different rates too.

I have noticed that it is actually around the stalled hairs where it is the most itchy still and where the pimples are/were!!

There is still little growth in the middle and crown part of the scalp but I suppose it's early days - at least there is some growth and most of it is in the 4,500 FUE hairs in the frontal zone: - a reminder of what I looked like just after the surgery.

This Friday/Sat will be 4th month post operation - will update with some photos. I think this is roughly the implantation of hairs but not to scale/ just my guess!? :whatever:
