Anybody Have 8 Weeks Growth

I just had a hair transplant done. I seen others with growth at 8 weeks. I'm exactly 8 weeks today and have not seen any growth. I'm worried. The clinic told me everybody is different and to give it three months. I need some advice

Hello @thickhair, the norm is around one month, four weeks, the transplanted hair may shed, you may keep the hair, but either way at this stage it has no impact on the result if it sheds or stays. The transplanted hair then enters a dormant stage that normally lasts another two months (3 months from transplant). Around three months the transplanted hair starts to grow, the growth at this stage is minimal and often finer than the quality of your native hair until it matures. At eight weeks, do not worry, but you could post pictures if unsure. Good growth!

If you have traction alopecia what have been the consequences so far? Did you have a hair transplant because you lost hair due to the traction alopecia, to replace lost hair?

That's why I got the hair transplant. The consequences were I lost my hair but it wasn't in a large area

Traction alopecia can cause scarring, as it can cause permanent damage to the hair follicles, leading to miniaturisation and fibrosis. The follicles are replaced by scar tissue resulting in a permanent hair loss. However, if it is relatively minimal it is unlikely to affect the transplanted hair growth. But at eight weeks it is way too early to be concerned. You can post pictures if you wish as it maybe possible to give a specific comment rather than a general help. Hope you have good growth.

Here is the area where the transplant took place. Does this look like scar tissue and do you think I should have any growth?

There´s mothing obvious from the your image, try to just allow the transplanted hair to mature over the coming months an then judge. Of course, it needs to be said, don´t cause traction to any hair, as that certainly will not help.

There appears to be an area of slight complexion change, but it´s not possible to say more from the picture and we don´t want to "guess". I assume you discussed this with the doctor at your consultation, did they give any indication as to growth issues. Regardless, 8 weeks it will be impossible to give you an answer, around 13 weeks is often when the growth starts, maybe 4 months if there is scar tissue, Try to be patient in the meantime. If concerned visit your doctor for a check.
