Are 4k graftss with FUE Dangerous?

Hi,
I am in the process of shortlisting my FUE Doctor and want to go for 4000 grafts. I was adviced by one of the doctors that doing more than 3000 Grafts (over a 2 day session) with FUE Is dangerous as it will damage the integrity of the donor area and result in a lower growth rate and wasted grafts.
I would love to know the community's opinions on this?

It's a tough one as some doctors say it is dangerous whilst others regularly carry out large cases, which doctor advised you against it.

I've seen procedures with over 4000 grafts. They looked good.

This is a technical debate and it is not a black and white answer.

First of all removing virtually any number of FUE with small punches is not 'dangerous' as in risking health problems.

The reason why most ethical docs and institutes will avoid extremely large numbers is donor area shock loss and donor management.

Often we get email request from NW7 patient demanding 4000 grafts. It is not realistic and we need to explain why these amounts of extractions would likely cause more problems than solve them.

In our experience we like to limit our sessions to 3000-3500 grafts over 2 days for untouched donor.
It is virtually impossible to provide and execute an intelligent extraction pattern where no adjacent grafts are removed above a certain number (and again, this varies a lot from patient to patient).

We also note that in some countries it seems that there is some sort of competition involved of who can do the most grafts in a single day session. Prohairclinic will not follow this route, we stand for optimal quality given each patient hair situation.

It's not that it is dangerous it's that smaller is always without a doubt safer.
Logic would tell us that the less wounding incurred the better the healing.
