Hi just after some advice/feedback
The first 1-2cm of my hairline have been transplanted at about 90- 100 FU per cm, while the areas behind it are only 30 FU. Im a NW5 who has already had 5500 grafts extracted. I am hoping to rebalance these areas.
Ideally Id want to remove the hairline as it looks utterly ridiculous (literally had friends laugh at it), that is until I finally began using thinning scissors on it which ive found to be quite effective. Ive consulted with a few clinics and have received a few different options;
- I can FUE the hairline out and redistribute those grafts to the areas directly behind it, but given the potential for scarring id have to do this over 2 surgeries.
- I can FUE the hairline out and redistribute those grafts to the areas directly behind it AND lower the hairline slightly in an attempt to soften its appearance (the surgeon who saw my hairline referred to it as a "wall"). I think i would only need 1 surgery for this approach.
- I can simply continue using thinning scissors and ONLY add to the areas directly behind the hairline from my donor. This option would avoid any potential scarring through the hairline FUE extractions, but Id be sacrificing around 500 grafts sitting wasted in the hairline.
In terms of my donor supply I could get 2-3k grafts from FUT due to my scalp laxity, or 1.5-2k grafts from FUE. So thankfully I still have options - but obviously not enough to ever support a 100 FU hairline as a NW5.
I've spent a lot of time on the forums and still havent found any similar cases to my own so if anyone has any experienced advice I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
