Hi Guys
Thanks for the encouragement, particularly about the shockloss. It was hard to take, and it made a difference.
I'm 4 calendar months to the day out, and just back from a haircut. Although not buzzed, my hair IS VERY SHORT at the moment.
Some really great things have happened in the last 4 weeks:
- I can wear my hair short without derrmatch, and the scar is not visible. The right side is amazing, the scar has disappeared. The left side is not as good, but I can wear my hair very short and you can't see I've had anything done even in direct sunlight which at this stage is a nice position to be in.
- The transplants have started to grow. This began about 4 weeks ago. The growth is uneven, but it is definitely happening. Yield looks like it's going to be great.
It's been emotional. It's fair to say that I regretted the whole exercise for the first 3 months. If this seems odd, it's because although I didn't like balding, I didn't lose sleep over it either - I got on with my life. For the first 3 months I basically had nothing good. Shockloss, and a very red transplant area, was all I had.
For the past 4 weeks as the shockloss has faded, I've relaxed a bit.
For the past week I'VE HARDLY BEEN ABLE TO STOP GRINNING. It's sad really. Although it's early days, for the first time in ages I actually recognise the person I see in the mirror, rather than that bald-bloke imposter that was there before.
Photos to follow.
