Looks really good. I bet you were buzzing with confidence and then the joy when your girlfriend walked out.
All those early doubts are now history.

@Bigmac thank you for all the support throughout this journey. You’re right about the timing. It’s like, in the exact moment I’ve had this giant weight lifted, I’ve found someone that appreciates me in ways I’ve never experienced before. Every single day I am grateful.

Regarding new growth, my hair is about 1.5 inches on top now, so it’s hard to say because it’s hard to see.

The right temple seems to have mostly filled in (it was lacking severely before), so I think new growth has definitely occurred recently. I just don’t think it’s happening at the rate it was before, where every couple of days the growth was obvious and substantial.

What I have noticed is the density increasing. Sometimes I wake up with bed-head with my hair all standing up and I’m like wow…it’s super thick!!!

This transplant has far exceeded my expectations so I’d be perfectly fine if this was my final result (which I realize it’s not and will continue to improve and mature). But if my frontal hairline softened a bit and the scab area filled in that would be great too.

EDIT: Oh I see you meant growth in the scab area itself. No…not really. It’s still mostly empty, but not the end of the world. Fibers cover it up well and I part my hair slightly back and to the right which covers it.

When you wake up with bed head and it looks good, you know your hair loss is not an issue.
I still think the scab area will grow hair, just taking their merry old time due to the trauma.
Good to hear a little sprinkle of fibre sorts it out for now.
Always happy to give support.

Hi @Bigmac ! Thanks for asking! I’d say it’s looking great! Not perfect by any means, as I could definitely critique some parts of it. But with a bit of fibers and some styling, I don’t think about my hair at all anymore. Mission accomplished. :)

You guys definitely do deserve an update. I’ve actually moved out of the US and gotten engaged so I’ve had a lot going on!

It’s interesting. This transplant has changed my life in so many positive ways. When I think about it, I can’t believe how blessed I am. Best decision I ever made. I’ll be forever grateful to HDC and Doron for this.

But I’m also learning it’s not a cure-all for all the hurdles life throws at you and it definitely doesn’t fix the root cause of my insecurities.

Once I get a chance and don’t have any fibers in, I’ll send you guys an update for sure.

I appreciate everything Bigmac and I’ll be in touch soon.

Thanks for popping back with an update. You’ll be around 9.5 months now, still a few months to go for possible more growth and maturing for sure. It`s good that you’re not worrying about your hair now and a bit of fibre helps. You’re right in that it’s not the cure for all hurdles but it’s one less for you.
Congratulations on getting engaged. Things must be going really well for you and your fiancé. Moving from the US to start a new life must be very exciting. I wish you all the best with this new chapter in your life and I’ll look forward to seeing your update.
All the best.

Hi, everyone! Sorry it’s been so long without any pics! I just passed the 1 year mark, so thought it would be good to post a little update!

I promise, I will do a proper update, without any fibers in. I don’t put in much but it needs to be pointed out that these photos include them! But I was just thinking of you all and wanted to post a quick set of photos I just took of how I wear my hair on a daily basis.

As it stands now, I cut my own hair (which I’m sure is very obvious! ). Usually around an inch and a half on the top, and a 5 grade on the sides and back.

After I wash it, I towel dry it, put in some Rogaine, blow-dry it a bit, then work in some Aveeda clay. To finish it off, I put a touch of fibers in the thinnest areas, which are the scab area, just behind the left front of my hairline, and a little above the temples in both of my part lines.

All in all I’m extremely satisfied and believe this is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. Is it perfect? No. You’ll see this in the next batch of photos I post. But it has FAR exceeded my hopes and most days, I don’t think about my hair at all.

I hope you’re all doing well. Thanks for everything HLE, Doron and HDC!

Hi Parasol. It’s good to hear back from you. I hope life is still treating you well.
Your hair is looking great. Donor looks good. Having a little fibre in helps any small area that is thin. Maybe you’ll have the smallest of touch ups which you can mention if its a possibility in your next update.
I think your haircut looks quite good, it’s way better than my own attempt. I looked as though Edward Scissorhands was let loose on me.
The time has flown by quickly. It doesn’t seem that long ago you were in Cyprus.
All the best.

Hi Parasol!

Your hair looks great! Wouldn't think you suffered from hairloss at all if I saw you out.
Well done! Congrats on your engagement and your move abroad! Best of luck!

Hi, Bigmac! Life is going great for me. I just got married a couple weeks ago! Couldn’t be better! I hope you’re well too!

Although Doron did promise a free touch up if I desired it, I feel really good about the way my hair is now, and am not sure it’s worth the risk in this exact moment. I can style it in a way that covers the thinner areas without too much hassle, and I feel very happy with the way it looks now on a day to day basis.

If I have another surgery, it’ll likely be part of a larger session, some time down the road when my loss progresses further. Finger’s crossed that’s a LONG time from now. :)

@Kevboy thanks so much! I’m thrilled, and I appreciate all the support you’ve given me since the beginning. That goes for all of you. I was in a spot where I was feeling a little low, and you were all an incredible comfort, and a wealth of information too!

Congratulations on getting married. Your story has a fairytale ending. Your life has certainly got better.

Maybe you’ll visit Europe with the wife and pop into Cyprus for a small touch up or just wait as you say. Whatever you decide, life is good right now, hair is good, enjoy every moment, you deserve it.

Looks like you never suffered from hairloss as the others mentioned, really good result overall and the most important thing is that you feel happy. :)
