Hey Digi, it’s looking better with every treatment.
How does it look to you from a few feet away when the redness has subsided? It should be looking more natural, just a thinning appearance.

It’s looking very good Digi. Do they use any topical anaesthetic?
With hair growth cycles varying, has she said you can return after treatment if the odd one survives?

No but it doesnt hurt that much, I relax and almost fell asleep everytime.

She said they might come back and there is no 100% guarantee so there will be no free session or such, but I guess only time will tell, I believe they will not but we will see. She refers alot to beard removal, thats why she says this.

I know Dr Jerry Cooley is using Electrolysis on his repair cases sometimes, for scalp hair it is much easier to get a fast result than on for example beard, because of so short anagen phases with beard compared to scalp hair.

I will keep updating here, I might be done here because now that I booked a repair surgery, there is not alot left and the rest can probably be reused.

We will see in some months if they start to popup again.

That’s good to hear it didn’t hurt you. I do know some people ask for anaesthetic for SMP, I guess it comes down to different pain thresholds. Yes, Dr Cooley has used electrolysis. I think more will add it to their clinics because the number of patients receiving sub-par work is increasing. It’s just a shame the grafts are wasted. If someone had very limited donor I’d think they would try to have them punched out and re-used.

Your repair seems to be going as planned. If some do surface again, a quick treatment should sort them or possibly you may be ok with them blended in with singles when you have your next surgery.
This thread will undoubtedly help others who find themselves in a similar situation. You’ve documented it very well with good quality high resolution pictures. I thank you for that.
Hopefully, these next few months pass by quickly for you and you’re on your way to the natural result you deserve.

From where you started to now I must say the treatment has been great. Your high resolution pictures really do show the poor placement that includes multi grafts and wrong angulation. It will be a huge relief once you have your repair surgery to fix this.

Tomorrow I will have another session, this is how it is looking now, 2 weeks since last session, 6 sessions in total.

It’s looking a lot better now with most of the multis and mis-angled grafts gone. I think removing the dotted grafts you’ve marked could be the last of them you need removed. Hopefully, none of them regrow as sometimes the follicle can survive the treatment.
It’s great that you’re updating on a regular basis as I’m sure it will help others in similar situations.

I think you may have removed enough of these multi grafts now. Your next surgery to repair it has been made a lot easier because of the electrolysis. Reality is a lot of patients would not have questioned the multi units as they don’t put the hours into research, lots simply ask who should I go to and that’s it.
Thanks for the regular updates. This is probably the most documented hair transplant electrolysis removal thread. Thanks for the commitment.

From where you started to now is quite the difference. It’s a shame all those grafts have been wasted but the sacrifice will be worth it once you have this fixed.

The shape/design of the left temple is looking way better now. The right side is still looking straight.
What are thoughts about the repair so far?
