I am considering taking this, maybe 1mg x 3 days a week.
The shedding bothers me that some people report along with the side effects
Question 1:
Does everyone shed on fin, I am aware of the hair phases it goes through, however there are stories of people shedding and not regrowing any of that hair so seems negative.
Question 2:
Are there any people on here on this long term, if so what are your experiences what are your doses
Question 3:
What side effects have you experienced, gyno, rash, ED etc.
These are my main concerns as there seems to be no other way to stop hairloss naturally and this is potentially a life altering druThere
There's a lot of variables in this decision, such as age, reason for taking, hair loss 'strategy' etc. If your in your 20's /30's do you anticipate taking this for the rest of your days to attempt to hold on to as much of your hair as possible or do you plan on fighting hair loss as you're going through a party phase and then adopt a different approach later on etc etc ?
In terms of side effects, I would anticipate these will happen in some form or another. Would you rather have more hair, higher body fat, less functioning dick etc or the inverse ? Nobody knows what effect it has on their body but there are some who post about long term effects of this, some even permanent, which I find hard to believe but who knows.
What seem almost certain is that the original company Merck who launched this pharmaceutical downplayed, no make that downright lied, about the percentages of people adversely effected by this.
As we age, a lot of the very likely sexual side effects of Finasteride will only get exacerbated, as sexual functioning can be effected by general ageing on it's own. Add in to this that Finasteride only claims to slow hair loss and not reverse or cure it, then it's easy to see how it can be a questionable solution.
I've taken it for over a decade and did get a lot of side effects which I tried to manage with varying success and has it helped me to hold on to more hair ? The fact is NOBODY knows this because by selecting one path there's always the opportunity cost of the other, so I may have had the amount of hair I have if I had not taken it. It may well be that people are playing Russian Roulette to some extent with their health for the sake of paying for a medication which nobody knows if it has helped their hair loss or not. Yes some, perhaps many, will argue otherwise but it's all based on subjective experience as nobody has a microscopic hair counter to establish per cm2 hair count, to gather before and after usage, so it's largely based on guesstimation. Yes, there are studies that claim to have done just this measurement, re microscopic counting but at the end of the day the users of this pharmaceutical are basing their results on their own subjective experience, myself included. What has been real has been ball pain and sexual side effects I've experienced and I would wager most will experience to a greater or lesser extent.
