Here is my 11 month update after my second procedure.

I have scheduled my 3[suP]rd[/suP] procedure with BHR for May 19[suP]th[/suP] of this year. Once again my donor situation will be evaluated and this will dictate the size of the procedure. My improvement so far has made a huge difference in my life. I have received some comments that no improvement can be seen by some on the forums. I €™m not quite sure what to make of those comments but I can say they hardly bother me and I always make a point to respond to them. No one knows my hair like I do and at this point styling has been much easier and it is a huge relief.

Many also cannot understand why this long drawn out amount of time in the repair process. Only those in the same shoes or those old enough to know that the older you become the less risk you are willing to take will understand. This is what many of the young guys who are still making bad decisions in regards to hair transplantation fail to grasp. You have a valuable resource in those that have been around and have gone before you slow down and use it. They do not make any money from this industry in any way and they do it because they know that many of these naïve young men are easy prey for too many clinics and they can €™t stand to see it still happening.

There are many experts in this business but I would suggest becoming your own expert. In my opinion anyone in this business that does not tell you that proceeding slowly with fue first using a small hand punch and a smaller procedure from which you can easily decide at any point that you would not like to pursue hair transplantation further and still look normal and that it must be performed by a skilled doctor that has a natural artistic talent is not doing what is in your best interest. Most of the innovation is in fue for a reason and until everyone can perform it with high yield and in my case no scarring you will not see it heavily promoted, that is just the way the world works, money all too often trumps ethics.

I will update everyone before I leave before my procedure.

I agree with you Topcat in that we know our own hair better than any other person. We can see the improvement because we style and comb our hair everyday. It is a very slow process in repairing any person which is the proper route to take. Those Megasessions where transection rates are high are a waste of donor & in the end very damaging. You are going the right route. People will always be critical. I am my own worst critic but know how far I have come. My hair now is the best it has ever been. The front is vastly improved. The crown is not perfect but gives me some hair enough to where it no longer is on my mind 24/7. That is when you know that you have made massive progressive not only on the outside of our heads but also most importantly with the inside of our heads. Hair Peace I call it. Keep Plugging along (No pun Intended). In the end you will find it the best investment you can make. Good Luck & keep us updated.

Thank you for taking the time to update , and all the very best for the upcoming procedure , allthough you have had two relatively small procedures, the growth looks outstanding ! this upcoming procedure will really set you up .

As a fellow repair patient who has been disfigured , lied to , maimed by some of the big names in the industry I completely agree with you about becoming educated to expert level , this is a very difficult thing to do and takes a long time, in part due to the ` proffessional silence ` amongst Drs and industry insiders as to who is producing subpar work ,and who isnt !! and how they deal with unhappy patients etc, this lengthens the research timeframe and is very unhelpful , however this does exist ! I think its down to the annual " pow wow " this year I beleive to be located in the Bahamas, were nobody wants to upset one another, at the expense of patient research !

Fortunatly members of this site took it upon themselves to meet up and share results , experiances and general info , hopefully this is a huge help for anyone considering a procedure , as is your story and updates

Good luck topcat..i have a few questions for u if thats ok?

Do you have much neck/nape hair?the hair im refering to is all the hair under the hairline on the back of your head that would be shaved say after coming from the barber?

What area's are you looking to hit in the coming surgery?and how many grafts are you hoping for?

So I leaning backing in the chair last night talking to the wife and I notice she seems to be staring at my hair which anyone with hairloss or who have had a hair transplant pick up on instantly. I don €™t say anything but of course my first thought would be something is noticeable or just doesn't look right. A few minutes later she comments on how she can €™t believe how much hair I now have on top of my head which of course brings out a big laugh for me. She never really cared too much about my hair in the past and could never understand exactly what the big issue was so it gave me a chance to say you see now you know what I was talking about it makes a difference. I just had to post this experience and it €™s not meant to gloat as I hope others in a similar type situation get the same kind of relief.

BTW after so many stares over the years you get use to it and learn to ignore. So having a stare because of something positive is reason to celebrate in my book. It's like someone took a 100lb weight that I have been carrying off my back.

I think anyone who has either lost hair or had hair surgery can empathise with you with regards to being sensitive of the eyes straying up to the head and not the face during converation. An uncomfortable feeling for most but glad it was for positive reasons and happy for you with regard to the growth so far. I know the team will be looking forward to your next visit.

Levrais, that is with concealer but at this point I need to use very little on top which is also another big relief.

I'm glad you updated your case mate as oddly enough I was thinking about you today. The day you were having your first session with BHR I had my first consultation - 12/02/2010. I had read of your case beforehand but since then I always felt it my duty to check in on your thread.

Your results looks really good, especially considering the numbers involved, and I am glad to see you are keeping with the small but frequent sessions. Slow and steady will win you the race. Enjoy your hair.

Thanks for sharing. This is really helpful, care to share more photos of the donor area (beard) ? I see redness in you chin also few pitting marks, I am not sure though, could be the lighting or could be you had this before the procedure.
