Here is my 1 month update although it s more like 5 weeks. I wanted to wait until I shaved and since I have quite a few ingrown hairs it took a little longer. Still very early in the healing process and so far going very well. The skin under the chin seems to be a little thinner and taking a little longer to heal similar to what I experienced with the chest extractions on the previous 2 procedures. So far I have had close to 700 beard hairs extracted from this small area around and under my chin.
For the recipient area I left my hair wet so you that a better view of the skin could be viewed.

The color in the recipient is looking good for 5 weeks. Did the ingrown hairs start before or after your first shave? Blade or electric?

Hi Levrais the ingrown hairs started at about week 3 and are just starting to go away now. I just trimmed that area of the beard with a hair trimmer for 5 weeks and shaved for the picture using a blade. It actually looks much better now just a few days later.
It also looks much better in person at least in my opinion as I do tend to take very close photos in very bright light.

Levarais I will go back to not shaving that area for 2 weeks. I know my body very well and it will be about that long for the few ingrown hairs to go away along with any redness.
I have to get one of those magnifiers for the camera that I seen on another thread. Take some really close pictures......lol.....

It actually doesn't look that bad. I hate ingrown hairs though. Ive only shaved close once since the op and have been using an electric razor.

Here is my 2 month update. The only issues that I have had were some ingrown hairs under the chin that finally seem to be going away. What I have found is that a mixture of powdered aspirin and witch hazel works very well but benzoyl peroxide works even better and I can tell the difference in only a few days. This is something I do on my own. It was not suggested by the clinic nor do I ask the clinic. I prefer to just take care of myself and my own aftercare and take full responsibility for whatever I do. Should you do the same as I do, that is up to you.
Outside of eating my usually 12 or more eggs a day and massive amounts of Vitamin C through food extracts I have been eating more turkey wing soup. When it chills it is complete gelatin. All three items listed have a huge affect on collagen and skin healing.
I have had approximately 750 beard hair grafts extracted from this small area.

Funny you should mention the witch hazel. I found that I had lingering redness in the transplant area, with a few ingrown hairs, and that Witch Hazel gel was outstanding for toning down the redness and for dealing with the spots.

Hi Modenese yes the witch hazel works very well and when mixed with aspirin it really helps with the ingrown hairs.
It's still very early at this point being only 8 weeks after my procedure. It has been a huge improvement for me and if I can continue to improve I will continue my repair.

Jonzi why would you even read my thread if that is what you truly feel. Click on to the threads by posters you like and figure it out for yourself. If you feel I am being dishonest in some way than just state your case otherwise STFU.

The biggest mistake I made in my lifetime, was getting a hair transplant. I was about 23 years old at the time, and was easily misled by the Cleveland Hair Clinic. Carlos Puig gave me horrific plugs in my thinning hairline. It completely changed my life and I was very ashamed of what I had done. Although I now realize I was conned it was hard not to accept blame. This was way before the internet, and information on the procedure was limited. Like 99% of the population I was conditioned to believe doctors did no harm. I have learned the hard way that this is completely false. We are brainwashed to have certain beliefs starting at a very young age. This specific belief about doctors doing no harm can be very costly if you are not enlightened in time. For me it meant disfigurement, but for others it will cost them their lives. Don't be fooled into believing this only applies to the hair transplant industry. It applies across the board to all medical specialties.
After several years I tried to have the damage repaired. I ended up at Elliott/Thomas. I thought that the kind doctors there would be able to help. I learned a little too late they were just helping themselves. They used the janitor to place my grafts, and used surgical glue to hold them in place. The growth I got was minimal at best. I then ended up at Bosley, which was advertised as the top hair transplant clinic in the country. I had one procedure there and never went back. Finally I ended up at Brandy who assured me the hairlift would solve my problem. What he left out was that he would be creating new problems to replace the intial problem.
I would like to get repaired and increase the quality of my life. It is very hard to believe anything you read or hear about this business. With paid posters, doctored pictures and deleted threads, one must proceed very cautiously.

Thanks Levrais, funny you should mention that as I noticed the exact same thing. If it were not for the picture I would not have known as I really don't look.
And then people wonder why I question postings by clinics stating early growth because Acell was used. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to what the say sometimes and in my eyes it is often based on nothing.

Here is my 3 month update. My skin is a little red around the chin area as I was applying benzoyl peroxide to help alleviate the in grown hairs. They have gone away and once I start applying some moisturizer I m certain the redness will also be gone. I m sure most would not agree with the remedy for the ingrown hairs including the clinic but it worked very well for me where the moisturizers seemed to make it worse.
Outside of that everything has healed up very well.
