Thanks BM small subtle improvements and achievable goals seem to work well. Of course I m glad I never gave up and researched for a very long time before doing anything and that line of thinking has almost become a religion for me.
There is a picture below of a giant hole in my ceiling from last year. I had a hole in my roof and that hole was there for almost 2 years constantly seeping with a little water until one day so much water starting coming in that I had to tear the ceiling down. I had to rig up a concrete mixing tub attached to the wall with a small hole in the front so that it would drip into a bucket ¦ ¦ ¦.lol ¦ ¦ ¦ ¦ ¦. Why did I wait so long to have it repaired ¦ ¦ ¦ ¦because I couldn t do it myself although I know how to roof in fact I know just about every trade there is and I am proficient in them all. But my roof has a very steep pitch something impossible for me to work on as I simply do not have the appropriate equipment or level of skill to work on that terrain.
I also waited so long because I dreaded having to find the right person. The construction trades are very well known for their dishonesty and virtually all employees are required to have a background and drug test. But I found the right person after going through about 4 people and I knew instantly when I met him, I could just pick up on it and along the way in that process I could also pick up on one most especially that I knew without a doubt was dishonest. In fact after one specific question from him on what would be the deciding factor for me if skill and price were equal. I told him whether or not I thought the person I was speaking to was full of shit, etc but only because is asked. You see I already had enough knowledge about roofing so I couldn t be fooled and that was the difference.
But most important look at that second picture as that is the repaired ceiling which I did myself. One of the few trades that took me the longest to learn. How to mud and tape drywall. It took me well over 10 years ¦ ¦ ¦ ¦ ¦..mostly along the way I would just give up and tell myself I just can t do this. It takes a very light touch and an extreme amount of patience as even a small job like this took 7 days as one needs to do just a little and then come back again the next day. When it was finished it needed only about 5 minutes of sanding.
When I first starting learning I would just kind of blob it on and in my mind I thought somehow it will work itself out maybe I will just do a little more sanding later ¦ ¦ ¦ ¦ ¦but all the sanding in the world was not going to help fix something that started off as crap to begin with so it ended up becoming stucco or calling someone who had the skill to try and fix it. Anyway I m glad I never gave up and kept telling myself I can learn this and over time as I watched others and visualized it more in my head I have become very good at it.
This may seem like a completely bizarre post but to me in means something and if others get it great if not it s not for lack of me trying. Some skills take a very, very long time to learn and that must be respected and for me FUE falls into that category as it takes years ¦ ¦ ¦ ¦years of not giving up. Many of us need to be very thankful for those that kept doing the difficult until it became easy because I know I am.
I might not come off at times as being thankful ¦ ¦ ¦ ¦ ¦but I am ¦ ¦ ¦ ¦.. very few doctors have taken the skill level to the point where body and beard hair can be extracted proficiently ¦ ¦ ¦ ¦ ¦as it got harder they just got better.
