Glad your consultation went well, it’s definitely a great feeling knowing the clinic is with you every step of the way and want you to be happy with the end result. For me this is a big deciding factor when booking a HT

Thanks a lot, @Baldingman23. I know you had a good one as well, so it's good to know that The Hair Dr are genuine and that really helps. I think the aftercare is such a big part of the process.

Glad you had a good positive meeting man! sounds exact same as my 9 month meeting really, mine went the same way, will wait 3 months for the full 12 months & a top up can be done after etc to get to where we want to be.

We'll all get the perfect result in the end!

Thanks @theshape1122 and I'm glad yours went the same, too! That's right, let's see what the final three months bring in terms of growth and we know we don't have much to worry about.

I think we absolutely can get to where we want to be!

Looking forward to your updates,
Matt

Glad to hear you had a good catch up. It's really good seeing those side by side pics and shows how far you have come and helps with context. It's hard to see progress when you see yourself every day in the mirror so you can forget what it used to be like. Like you I don't have that many pics before to compare to as I didn't like the way I looked in them!

Personally I think your hair looks really good at this stage and a big improvement on the before- fingers crossed for the next few months so you get the result you want.

(Also I am feeling better about my big head now!!!)

Hi Matt.
It`s good to hear you’re happy with the follow up assessment. Your growth and density looks good so far with another 3 months to possibly see more. When you have you 12 month review It may be worth while to have wet and dry pictures, or even a video to show how far you’ve come.
I`m pleased things seem to be working out for you.
Thanks for the update and best of luck over the next 3 months.

Hi @Hoping_for_hair, very sorry for the late reply and I hope you've been well. You're absolutely right about the side-by-sides: they really help you to see the big picture and I'd say that's what I needed. Thank you very much for your kind words - honestly, I am mostly just grateful that I don't feel afraid to leave the house anymore. That's probably the biggest thing for me and no one should have to feel like that, but I guess that's just how our relationship is with our hair. Obviously, I'm somewhat greedy because I do hope I might see more progress up to 12 months, but who knows.

The good news is that you'll have all the photos from your consultation, so you can look forward to some really meaningful progress photos when you go for your checkup! And mate, regarding larger head sizes, anything to give you a greater donor supply is a bonus :ROFLMAO:.

Take care,
Matt

Hi @Bigmac, thank you for this and apologies for the late reply. Certainly - the follow-up was a meaningful, constructive and I felt listened to by Dr Arshad and Sommiya. I know others haven't been so fortunate with some surgeons, and if I had been in their position, I'm not sure my anxiety and disappointment would have been able to cope with that.

Thank you for your feedback and I hope that I might see extra gains up to 12 months. I agree with your advice that I want to get a set of wet-hair photos at 12 months when I'm in the consultation room at The Hair Dr, because that would be a more realistic side-by-side with my original photos.

Very kind of you - I'd say my concept of myself is a lot healthier than before the HT and this is directly related to how my hair has progressed. At the very least, I can be grateful for that and everything else is a bonus. One thing I would say is that I feel the increased hair on my head has obviated some positive, sustainable changes in my life, things that I wouldn't necessarily have had the confidence to pursue had so much of my mind remained consumed by self-loathing and misery around my hair. Crazy to think, really.

Hope you're doing well,
Matt

10 Calendar Months Post-Op

Hi everyone, I'm now ten months post-HT and the progress has been quite slow since around six months, but I'm seeing some steady maturation of the already-existing hairs, which is a plus. It'll be interesting to see if much else happens in the following two months. Growth in the hairline would be really welcome, as that's the one area I still feel insecure about. The reality is that, when styled properly, it's not such a big deal, but I reckon I'll take the top-up from Dr Arshad at some point after the twelve months if it hasn't improved much more. I've also attached a photo in a more natural setting to show what my hair looks like when not under harsh bathroom light.

Best wishes,
Matt

Looks great in that natural light photo- it's not often your standing under direct harsh bathroom lights with other people around anyway!!

Thanks very much, @Hoping_for_hair! Haha exactly - you're normally alone in the bathroom :p. A lot of this is also down to Dry Muk, too. Really helps to give my hair a nice lift, particularly when it's clean.

Cheers,
Matt

Looks great Matt, really happy for you mate.
Thank you so much, @HTL33. Really kind of you =). I'll be honest, it's just nice not being that worried about my hair. I feel like my potential to achieve things in life has grown simply because I'm not scared of leaving the house anymore. I'm aware that might sound crazy to someone who doesn't have hair loss, but it's really significant for me.

Hi Matt.
What’s important is that you’re happy with how it looks and it’s improved your quality of life. The growth looks good in the natural light which is how most will see you. Your donor looks good too.
What does your hairline look like when lifted up without being pulled tight like in picture 4 man bun style
