FUT scars

Guys.
Looking at prices online it's clear to see FUT is the cheaper option.
It's also considered the best for results when compared to FUE.
MY question however is, how visible are the scars?.. What if in a number of years you lost more hair or decided to shave it all off, would the scar be very visible?
Any photos of post op scars after a number of years would be greatly appreciated for myself and i'm sure many other who read this.

Even with the best scar, if you shave under maybe under a cm, it's going to be visible. If you go to Dr Feriduni's results section, he usually makes an effort to photograph the fut scar several months post op.

If you ever plan on shaving your head do not have a hair transplant. Maybe just start going with a much shorter cut now.

A highly skilled FUE surgeon using small hand punches should allow you to go very short without any issues but of course there are no guarantees. Have a small session and shave down after 1 year then assess what you see. If it looks good move forward with a larger procedure. It is absolutely in your control so that you can take 100% responsibility. This avoids the issue of figuring out what to believe as everyone works their angle.


Depending on the quality of the FUT scar there is a tendency for the hair to part and have the scar exposed when laying the head down for example on a pillow or an airplane seat. One then would need to constantly monitor the area every time one rested their head with 2 mirrors. Of course this will not only depend on the quality of the scar but the length of the hair and it €™s characteristics so it can be avoided depending.

Scars are unpredictable as people heal differently, you can reduce the risk of scarring by choosing a proven clinic with a good track record.
How many grafts are you thinking of. Also what length are you thinking of when you say shaved down.

Im 5 weeks post FUT op 5300! BHR Clinic. My scar is healing great with bio oil! its visible but i dont care because i will have longer hair, but it may not notice with short hair either because the scar is so tiny even after 5weeks. so glad i had FUT over FUE painful but worth it!

The scars is visible if the hair transplant treatment is done through the FUT hair transplant techniques.

I think if you are planning on shaving to the bone or anything below a grade 3/4 then FUT is not really an option.... Unless of course you later have FUE into the scar or SMP.....that being said if you are happy with longer hair and are wanting a larger amount of grafts then FUT is still a good option IMO.

Glad to hear you are healing well. Take care for the first few months as tensile strength comes back. All sounds very good so far though.

maybe its a bit early for that as im only 5 weeks post op, im sure the clinic will put pictures up later in the year

There is a 5 year age difference between my brother and I. We both inherited our genes from our father. Our choice fell on a Hungarian clinic in Budapest (PHAEYDE). We went for a consultation together with my brother. We both selected the clinic €™s S.H.E. (Single Hair Extraction) method, although they told me personally that despite the S.H.E. method, as many as 15,000 pieces of hair could be transplanted, still my hair would never be extra dense, since the bald area was very large. For my brother, hair was transplanted to the front, above his forehead, so in his case it was unquestionable that high density was necessary. However, I believe that at a hair transplantation it is also an important aspect, in what kind of condition the procedure leaves the donor area, thus I also chose the S.H.E. method even though it was not justified. About 5 months have passed and I can already see the result. After the procedure the donor area healed extra fast, if I had not mentioned that I had hair transplantation, nobody would have noticed.
