I have never really thought about a hair transplant but also, I have never quite made peace with the fact that I'm goind to be bald. Noboy in my family was/is bald and my hair probably fell off due to stress after I started my own business and I entered the dungeons of entrepreneurship with all the worrying and sleepless nights.
One day I was kidding with my also bald friend that I should probably have a transplant, and my friend who had actively started searching for clinics beforehand and in silence had told I should di it in turkey and not in Romania, my home country because they have lots and lots and patients and the chances of getting it right are far better simply due to experience and my friend also pointed out that I should not be cheap.
After the talk I sent emails to 3-4 clinics and they had made me take pictures and evaluate my procedure. I only liked the dynamics with the people at Vera clinic. I knew nothing about them but trusted them anyway because they had a lot of patients and they were not cheap. In fact, I think it was the second most expensive quotation. After the talk with them I purchased the flight ticheks and that was it. After I decided, 3 weeks later I was in Turkey.
A gentleman waited at the airport for my and my girfriend and took us to the hotel. The driver spoke good english and we chatted for a bit. The hotel was 4 stars i think; Hilton something.
The next day the procedure started with a consultation, some bloodwork some covid tests and everything went fine. I had the option of somebody translating in english or romanian; english was just fine for me and the 8 hour long procedure started.
The nasty part is the anestesia, it injects into the scalp the numbing agent and for the first few minutes you feel everything and it is not pleasant. It is bearable but not pleasant. After that you don't feel anything and you can sleep, engage in conversation, watch something on the tv, etc.
I did not know what to expect after that but they gave me instructions for everything, how to rest my head, cleaning process, products, bandages and the famous hat. I looked forward for the hat, and you should wear it as they say because your eyes and face will swallow due to some liquid the doctors inject under your calp.
I chose the more expensive procedure sapphire fue I think it is called. Everything went well and I left home with some shampoos and vitamins and tablets to take. I had to pay extra for the medicine and I was a little surprised about the cost ~ 500 euro extra. be prepared, have some extra money on you.
I did what they had told me and took the pills, lotions and so on but had a rash. I then talked via Whats App with the doctors and told me its kinda normal but then It persisted and I stop taking lotion, things got better after that but from now and then a small dot appeared on the sides of on my head. Then the hair started to grow and fall, and I felt a little bad thinking that was it, its something wrong with my operation and the hair does not grow. I then again talked with the doctors and said it is normal and the hair will grow, be patient. And it did.
The other nasty part was the dht blockers, I took a quarter of a pill containing finasteride and the effects started to be kick in in a couple of weeks, which is also normal; lower libido and the general lack of interest in sex. I stopped after the 3-4 month mark and then took it again on and off with the same results, I tried to better dose my pills but I did not like the effect so i stopped completely after about 6-8 months.
I'm much better now and the hair is thiner but normal looking and it has been 2 years... in January. I am 33 years old and I live a normal life with a head full of hair.
People who did not know me previously don't know that I have had the procedure and it is all very nice and natural looking. I told a few people and they did not believe me and I guess this is the best complement I could get.
I dont know about others, but I'm super happy with my results and with the colaboration with the people at Vera Clinic. I have seen and talked with some other people whos intervention done in other places did not work or they are not satisfied with the results. I don't know and I can only talk about my experience which was great.
All in all it costed me around 4 000 euros and It is worth every cent. I am a new man.
I will not post any pictures due to privacy issues but If anyone wants in private I could maybe send a before and after.
