Hair transplant cosmedica Istanbul

Hey everyone. So briefly, my hair started to go when i was about 21 (29 now). After my 26th birthday i completely shaved it off. Always had my hair short so shaving it off wasn't too much of a problem really. Why i decided to do a procedure? Well i just hate shaving my head every 6 days, otherwise it just looks untidy. So anyway, i was saving money to go away with my girlfriend for christmass and then we fell out massively, so i found myself with couple of grand that were really burning my pocket. I have been checking out this forum for years. Came across MickeyBlueEyes post about his experience with Cosmedica. Got in touch with them and booked my flight, all in all one week in advance. Did i do my research, nah, not really apart from mickeys post. I know it is silly but we all learn from our mistakes. Anyway flew in. Got picked up from the airport. Hotel was ok, room comfy and pimped out bed with neon lights. In the morning me and couple of other guys got picked up by a technitian. Guy could not speak english to save his life. Drove in a cab through a mad traffic of Istanbul (they must have car crashes on daily basis there). The journey took about 20 or so min.

Got off at the massive medical centre. Anyway the doctor only drew a hairline and he didn't follow my natural hairline. All in all with a break procedure took 6 or so hours, i think i had between 3500 and 4000 grafts. The whole procedure was done entirely by technicians and the good doctor did nothing but take my money 1900 euros. I didn't sleep at all before the procedure so i passed out few times while they plucked my hair away. Under no circumstances have a kebab from the hotel, was vomoting all night and half a day and for the next three weeks i had shits (sorry for the language). Lost about 12 kg of weight. There is a really nice kebab place a minute away from the hotel, if you are hungry eat over ther. The breakfast was good though so don't worry about that. Next day i got a cab and drove back to the medical centre where i payed 300 euros for load of shampoo, biotin tablets and saw palmetto. Barely standing on my two feet and trying not to vomit in good doctors face i picked up my shampoo and meds, however forgot the warranty certificate.

Took a cab to the airport and was happy to be flying back to UK. Now i am week short of two months, can see few hairs braking through. Expectations? Well if i have my hairline back i will be happy. I just went there with no research or expectations. Won't have any expectations either, whay ever happens will happen. If it works good on me if it doesn't then i will learn from my mistake and maybe save up and do procedure with a known doctor. Donor area is still red and slightly numb and so is recipient area. I think it is normal because it still healing and i have a fair and sensitive skin. Find the photos attached. Pre procedure, straight after and a week short of two months

Top and crown. As i said the whole op was done by techs and good doctor only took the money '''h;h;;h;;D ¬b`;) if i messed up i will live with it, at least others will know :)It's still too early to say anything to be honest so lets just wait and see. Will post next update at three months. At the moment i am still shaving my head on weekly basis. Scalp is red, slightly itchy. I taken biotin pills, saw palmetto, use their shampoo and also use scalp/hair tonic with caffein in it. Thanks for letting me share my experience :)

By the way feel free to comment, especially people who had their procedures done, would appreciate any feedback from more experience members of this forum, thank you :)

You received a good number of grafts that will look good if all grows well. The clinic should be able to provide you with an exact graft count with before and after pictures which will enable you to monitor and compare your growth.

Your donor looks somewhat thin. Not sure if this is shock loss caused by the extractions, if so it will return to its normal state over time.

You say you have taken a chance! Are you happy you went ahead?

I know it feels like you probably took a risk but really given the amount of feedback and before and after photos of the jobs done it was a good bet!
Did you find certain things helpful during the recovery process?

Only one guy at the gym asked me whether i had anything done and only because his flatmate did it. As i guy you generally have a privilege of not having anyone commenting on your appearance. I haven't really done anything for recovery, just use the shampoo that i bought from the clinic. In term of risk it didn't bother me at all really, i am an adult and i take full responsibility for my actions and ready to face consequences :)

Hi Vik

Thanks for posting your story and experience and I for one hope you get a great result , just looking at your pictures you do seem to have some shock loss in the Donor Area keep an eye on that mate nut no panic it can take 2-3 months even more for some donors to sort itself out. will be looking forward to your updates all the very best wishing great recovery and growth

Take care I care
