Have you been in contact with the HDC clinic to voice your concern, the area looks slightly inflamed, however at 4 months the grafts can and do grow at different stages.

Are you using Minoxidil on your scalp?

Hi Bastion, thanks for your reply.

I emailed HDC on the 24th March with my 4 month update photos and voiced my concerns, it's now the 29th & I am waiting to hear back from them. I have been using Propecia now for nearly 4 months. I'll let you guys know the outcome as soon as HDC come back to me. I realise hair grows at different stages and I'm not in anyway here to put anyone off using HDC, I'm simply displaying monthly results. I've bought some concealer for the patch & it also helps with the density too.

My best wishes to all HT Patients for a great result.

Jo.

This doesnt look to encouraging. Nothing is certain ofcourse, but usually at 4 months things are probably suppose to look better.

This is what scares be bit with HT ´s. What percentage of patients get these kind of results? 2%, 10% or 20%? Im not talking about HDC specifically, but for the industry in generell.

With FUE 4 months is very early days.Although I had growth at this stage things did not kick off until after this point.

Thanks for your support guys,

It's not easy going through this, HDC have contacted me they didn't receive my email with attached update photo's so I've resent them for analysis. I'm a bit confused as to why FUE takes longer to start growing that strip, I mean after the strip is dissected the graft would look like an FUE graft and transplanted in the same way, or am I missing something?

Best wishes
Jo

Follicles obtained by FUE go through more trauma due to the following forces; Traction, torsion and compression. As a result the hair follicles often need more time to recover in comparison to strip.

This can also result in a lower growth yield due to the issues mentioned and less protective tissue around the follicles after their 'blind' dissection from the scalp. Bascially the follcles require alot more careful handling compared to strip.

Jo,

We generally inform our patients that FUE grafts can grow slightly slower than strip grafts. When grafts are extracted via fue, it's pulled out and some of the tissue surrounding the follicles are left behind. Basically, it takes the extracted follicles more time to repair itself.

Thanks guys,

I'm definitely trying to keep positive about it. I'm going to make an appointment with HDC in May at the 6 month mark to assess the results, I will post the outcome and continue to post monthly results around the 25th of each month. May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Easter & hope you all get good weather for the break.

Best wishes
Jo.

Donor Area Back Right

Hi, I've just recently seen a friend of mine return from a HT abroad, he previously had a strip procedure the first time years ago, which left a nasty scar. The second time around he had a FUE and he got his scar filled in, it looked really good.

I guess if the HT worksout well, he won't have to wear his hair short anyway, lol.

Hi Guys,

Sorry I'm a bit late with the updates... been busy moving house recently, However... These new pics were taken at the just over 5 month mark.

Hey Daz, It's great to see in your photos that your new hair is coming through, how far along are you now?

Hi Gee <> HDC have answered your question in an email to me recently. Their position is that the growth at this stage is normal & to remain positive and wait to see the final result. I will be setting up a meeting with them on the 24 May (6 month mark) for a face to face evaluation in with further conclusions can be drawn as they have written. I will let you guys know the outcome!

Sending my best wishes to all for a great result!

Jo.

Hi Jo,

Could you let us all know how you got on with your evaluation with HDC today?

I had a procedure with them last week and in all fairness, I can't recommend them highly enough. I know it's all about the end result which I'm a long way off, but as far as the procedure went, they were top draw.

I'd be really interested to see their stance on your situation and If you've had any more growth?

Gee
