Hi all,
I am new to this forum so I apologise in advance if I ask questions already asked. I have decided to open a new thread in order to be up-to-date with the hair clinic situation.
I have been losing hair for the past 5-6 years and I recently went to a trichologist in Milan Italy where I live and he diagnosed me with Androgenetic Alopecia which is really common for men when they pass 30 years of age.
I am 34 years old and I've decided to act soon so I am interested in a hair transplant. However prices here are extremely expensive and hence I started researching for clinics in Istanbul, Turkey but I am really overwhelmed with all this various opinions and reviews I see online. I can't tell if reviews are fake or real and I can't seem to find a clinic that I can trust and it's within my budget.
So far I have contacted Cosmedica and ASMED surgical medical center for a consultation.
I'll give you my thoughts so far and then I would like your opinion and suggestions.
Cosmedica
I saw online that Mr Levent Acar is really respectable and has a good reputation.
Their website looks a bit like US telemarketing scheme with packages and their email reply was full of mistakes and honestly if I hadn't read through forums online I would think it is a scam. It is not written in good english. Also, they asked me to send photos of my hair on a whatsapp number, which I did, but I've never gotten a reply back which makes me think they are not serious. I also read online that they aren't good with communication (which I have already noticed) and that once the operation is done they don't follow you back which worries me a lot. Apparently their reputation in the last years has dropped so I am curious to hear from people who performed a hair transplant with Mr Acar lately (last year). The price of 3500 euros is within my budget as I am not willing to go over 4000 euros. A thing that also worries me is the density of the hair as I noticed from their videos on youtube that the final result isn't always what I am hoping to get. Also the crown area doesn't look very dense but I don't know if this is a general problem with every clinic.
ASMED Surgical Medical Center
Mr Koray Erdogan is also really respectable with great reputation.
Their website looks really professional and I love the form that you give details about your health and you upload photos. They got back to me after a day after analysing my pictures and they evaluated that I would need 3200 to 3500 grafts at a cost of 2.5 euro per graft which is way out of my budget. I have to be honest the videos I've seen from this clinic is closer to what I would like to get in terms of hair thickness but the double cost makes it a big no for me with my current budget. One thing that worries me is that they offer the option of implanting without shaving which costs way more but I read somewhere online that if a clinic offers this to you without a close examination before I should avoid them as it's not always the best solution.
What do you think guys? Could you give me a feedback and also suggest to me other alternatives?
Thanks for your time and looking forward to your comments.
