I am 40 and have quite a good head of hair fir my age. However, my hairline is getting higher, which for some people it would not bother. However, I've always had a big forehead and u hate how it now looks more pronounced. I would like my hairline lowering, even if it's still in a widows peak style. I've tried shaving my head but it just really doesn't suit me. Contemplating finasteride but I have heard lots of horror stories. Mr Ball seems to be quite a reputable surgeon from what I have read
I too shaved and did not like my look, if you still have a decent head of hair at 40 it is unlikely to get much worse, but many drs will still recommend using something like finasteride to maintain it on top of lowering it with a hair transplant
It is not easy trying to imagine long hair when shaved. Your hairline looks fine for me now, I think shaving was a little drastic, but at least it grows back. You could obviously have a hair transplant for your hairline, I doubt it would need much.
Your hair looks quite good to me. I think trying meds is the best approach unless you are thinking of having the hairline lowered, then only a transplant will do that.
