How soon after transplant can you use topical on the scalp?

I'm wondering from users with past experience how soon would you apply topical (such as minoxidil) to the scalp?

I have loss in the crown still. Do you even use foam on the transplanted area or not?

Hello Greg. 10 - 14 days is roughly the timeline before using topicals on the recipient area. You want to make sure your scalp has healed without any issues before applying it. Minoxidil can help speed up growth but its not always the case. Providing all went well during surgery the grafts will grow at their own pace.

At 10 days I don’t see any problem with applying it to your crown. You could probably apply it to a non transplanted area sooner but best to check with your clinic to be sure.

Alcohol and propylene glycol are known causes of skin irritation, especially so on the scalp. While the skin is healing i would recommend using a solution that is free from alcohol and propylene glycol.
