I want to stop using Finesteride but I have booked a HT

I have a HT booked for January which I booked some time ago. I started taking Finesteride around 3 months ago in preparation but I really don't want to continue.

I'm experiencing some of the sexual side effects and I just don't think it's worth it.

I'm now scared of going ahead with the HT as if I'm not on Fin, my hair may regress in the near future.

My question is, I know Fin is advisable after a HT but is it compulsory? I also use 5% minoxidil foam twice a day is that enough?

Depends on what Norwood level you are destined to be without treatment.
Might be worth considering reducing the dosage if you are taking 1mg per day to see if side effects dissapear.
Watery semen and ball ache were symptons I had when I started but went away after a while.
I doubt Rogaine would maintain your in the medium to long term.
Might be worth posting a few Photos of your hair some of the wiser ones on this forum may be able to give advice on what your future hairloss pattern will be.

Using the foam twice a day is the recommended daily application. Reducing the Finasteride amount or possibly switching to the topical may be an option.
Hair loss can be quite unpredictable. You may continue losing or you may not. You may only progress to a lower Norwood. Many patients do have a HT without Finasteride and are successful but others have continued to lose hair resulting in subsequent surgeries.
