I am at 3months and 1 week post op so i thought id give an update.
Even though this is still early days it looks as though most of the grafts on the left side of my hairline have broke through,they are of finer quality and look really good at this stage if anything i wish they would stay like this instead of maturing more,all in all left side has taken off really well.
The right side not one has broke through yet which is weird when compared to the left,its one extreme to the other but obviously still early days.i am thinking since i had more grafts placed on the right maybe this is the reason for slower growth.
I had grafts placed further back amongst existing hair and so cant really tell whats broken through the skin yet.
will upload pics at the 4months mark.

You're just that beginning stages of growth. It's not abnormal to see growth on one side sooner. It's not quite so normal to experience so much growth on the left side at 3 1/2 months post op so you're fortunate. Look forward to seeing some pics soon.

Ok so time for the 4 month update..my growth this time has not been as fast as first time,by 4 months last time i had alot of growth so patience was not an issue last time it def is this time.I know its only 4months but my hopes for quick growth were VERY high after first time.
The left side of my hairline is done at this stage the hairs are strong and going by my post op pics i dont expect much more growth in this area.
The right side of my hairline has activity for sure but some of the previous dhi grafts of which some were lasered and grew back finer are in this area,i used shave this area or pluck these grafts until my last op so its hard to tell what is what but their def is new growth.
The two areas grafted that connect the transplanted hair to the forelock is the opposite to the frontal hairline the right seems pretty good,the left not so much,the left is actually the biggest problem for me,their is a spot around the size of 2-3mmsq where it is pure bald and grafts are growing infront around and above it,concealer doesnt help that much due to the lack of voulume/density in this area.

I forgot to mention a few things,i am 15 months post op first ht,i reported on a different thread some kinkyness around the 8 month mark as you can see by my the photos soon to be uploaded that the kinked hair has straightened out nearly perfectly and the new growth is currently straight too.
I was also thinking why did the left hairline take off so fast and i remembered that dr paul lowered the left hairline a bit more on the second day and i remember 'stick and place' was used,so what im thinking is the sooner a graft is placed the less chance of hair shedding and/or quicker re-growth,is this making sense or just purely coincidence?

The last pic was from my first ht last yr after exactly 4 months,i had next to no hair in the temples pre op so growth was rapid quick.

4 months post op is just the beginning for growth. It's hard to say why one side grows faster than the other side. And you can't predict current growth by previous surgery growth either. We feel the less time grafts are out of the body the better. And we certainly try to get the grafts in as soon as reasonably possible.
Even at 4 months, you're coming along nicely. Thanks for the great progress pics.

Both days the grafts were implanted quickly for sure.
I have one question,why is it some grafts grow in thick and matured they feel like stuble initially and some grafts grow in thin and whispy and then mature further?

Im not actually concerned about the hairline,it looks good now the way it is even though the left is coming in faster and i wear my hair down so the slower growth on one side is not seen but the area further back on the left is the cosmetic issue for me,im checking the area nearly hourly-the worst thing i could be doing i know!!

Hairs should naturally start growing in fine and will mature through normal growth cycles. This is normal part of the process of hair transplantation and what we come to expect. The consenus among ht physicians is that the wiry and kinky hairs have more to do with trauma the follicles endure that causes this phenomenon.

Yea, that is about the worst you can do. We discourage patients from checking on a daily basis. There really isn't not anything you can do during the growth stages so try, try, try not to look every hour.
As for your other question regarding why some new hairs grow fine while others grow kinky or wiry......
