Thanks guys. Swelling is worse today, but more so in my left eye lol. I think it's looking better though this afternoon, so I'm hoping by tomorrow I should look half normal again.

New post on my blog, and follow me on instagram too :) @hairtransplantdiary

Being the end of the 3rd day post op, it says to stop using the saline spray. So does that mean it's ok for the scabs to harden?

Is there any cream you'd recommend for using on the donor area, aloe vera, vitamin e?
One other thing, around the back of my head in the donor area, it's starting to tingle. It feels like when the hairs stand up on end lol. Does this just indicate that the anaesthetic/numbness is fading and I'm getting feeling back?

Hi Ryan

Glad to here things are starting to get a bit better , well to be honest I used the Saline spray till the bottle finished it just seemed to cool my head down the first few days , whatever you do do not pick the scabs they will harden and fall themselves when doing your shampooing , just use the shampoo you were given when they harden the scabs that is and do circle motions but do do it excessive , just wait a few days mate till them grafts are well and true planted , the tingle feeling is normal mate and it will get better try not to itch it, I also used the spray to help with that , I used aloe vera and Vitamin E mixed and just placed it over the donor area for 3 days or so hope this is helpful Brother just take things easy this is a time when everything has to be kept stress free as possible

Take Care I care

Cheers Dazz. I'm only on my second day of shampooing now so I'm still patting the area, too paranoid to do any circles yet lol
Some of the scabs are falling off though and they have little hairs in them. I'm not sure if they were the hairs that were implanted, or if they are the small hairs that were shaved off prior to the HT during prep and have stuck to the scabs c;;9

Dear Ryan

Dont start getting all worried am sure you will be fine as long as your not rubbing the scabs hard the grafts should be fine , you just need to be careful dont try to rush things up this stage of your journey its just a light wash and not hot water for cleansing warm water, what country are you in now , remember its what stays below the surface on the head is what is important at this stage , call your Doctor if you have any concerns thats their job mate

have a great day

Dazz

Thanks bullitnut!
Still in some pretty severe pain in the donor area right now. I can only assume the Dr accidentally went a little too deep on a couple of the extractions and damaged some nerves. It's like constant waves of burning and stinging, all day, all night. Not good.
Anyway, on a positive note, here's a Before and 5 Day Post Op photo ;)

Today marks 2 weeks since my DHI Hair Transplant. There has been a lot of changes since 7 days ago!
The pain I was in has almost completely gone. According to DHI it is pretty rare that someone goes through the pain I did. Started at day 5 post HT and didn't let up till day 12. Worst pain of my life and I'm not exaggerating as I've spent plenty of hours under the tattoo machine. I guess I €™m just one of the lucky ones! Sleeping has become alot easier now and I €™m almost getting through the nights without waking up. My donor area is still a little sensitive though but that €™s reducing each day.
No scabs anymore but my scalp is still a little numb. I assume that €™ll take some time to get 100% of the feeling back.
Shedding began on day 12 around the same time as I started using Rogaine. Not sure if that €™s a coincidence or not, but from what I €™ve read shedding usually begins around that time anyway. But, the sooner they fall out the sooner they regrow right??
Looking at the donor area you can €™t even really tell I had over 2000 grafts removed, and it €™s only going to look better as the weeks go on.
How long does the shed last for usually??

Hey ryan how did your hair turn out?
Not too bad at all ;) Check out my blog for my 12 month photos and write up hairtransplantdiary.com
I'm still currently growing it out which is making it look a little more dense, but I've decided that I'll need another HT to really be happy. Plus my crown needs some work as it only had 1000 grafts with this first HT.

Hi everyone. Thought I should give you an update for where I'm at now.
It's about 16.5 months since I had my first HT with DHI in Geneva Switzerland. My hair is at it's longest now than it has been in probably 15 years lol.
Really happy with the outcome now that I've grown it a little longer, I think that's the key honestly. I kept it short for so long after the HT because I didn't think it'd be dense enough to grow out, but it's actually not too bad. As you can see from the photos there's no evidence in the donor area from having anything done which is great.
I had just over 2000 grafts in May 2015 which was used to rebuild the hairline and fill in the crown a bit. I'm currently organising my second HT now with DHI which will focus on the crown (started to really thin out now), and also to add more density behind the hairline.
Currently not taking Propecia, or using Rogaine. Just Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo.
Will keep you updated!
More photos on my blog too btw. Link in Sig.

Looking great Ryan, I bet your confidence is much higher now. Which Doctor did your procedure at Dhi?

That's good to hear your confidence is back and thanks for the doctors name, it's always good to research the doctor of choice.

Hi guys, here's some pre 2nd HT photos to show you where I'm at. Only had just over 2000 grafts with my first HT so expecting heaps of density from it was a little unrealistic. Hoping to gain a lot more though behind the hairline and crown with this next one. Haven't set a date yet, but should be doing that this week.I still hate direct light ;;::::/ lol

Hi Ryan, your first Ht has given you a good illusion of hair that frames your face, considering where you started you look good when your hair is styled.
This second HT should add some nice density.
Looking forward to hearing about it.
All the best.
Bm.
