my ht ~1800 grafts fue

Im coming up on six months since my ht, it was about 1800 fue grafts. Was probably between Norwood 2 and 3. All the grafts went in within about an inch and a half of the hairline, nothing on the sides or crown.

Not very impressed so far, and these top down pics are extremely generous. Don't want to name the clinic because there's good chance everything will change in the next few months and it wouldn't be fair to leave that out there, but if the "60% at 6 months" thing you usually hear is true for me, then looking foward that would definitely fall short of my expectations (though anyone whos been on the forum long enough will recognize the clinic from the setting of the pre/post ops).

At this point, I am pretty much back where I started, except with lingering shockloss in the donor, and stringy, wiry hairs growing in the front. Not exactly where I hoped to be after six months but i hope it improves.

I would say you are on track, and your hair line is fuller than it was pre-op. You are only half way, lots of improvement to come.

Hi Ziggs, theres a good chance you are a slow grower. There is new growth and your hairline seems to be taking shape. the stringy hairs should straighten out in the coming months.

Some shaven pre op pictures would be good.

Once you add to the gallery theres a "G" icon on your toolbar when replying on a post, click that, it goes to gallery, select a picture with one click on picture, this goes straight onto your post, then "G" again, select next picture and repeat as many times as needed.

Its past 6 months now and no significant change. The only hair thats growing is the hair that started growing at 4 months, and its all in this thin strip around the very front of my hairline so I have this gap between the hairline and native hair.

the dr gave me a prescription to reduce redness/inflammation 2 months ago. the clinic says they are confident all the hair will grow, its just delayed. lots of clinics say this, but i havent found one that ever posted a case that showed bad growth at 6 months and a good result later.

4 months and 6 months attached so you can see how some hair did grow and mature on one side, but theres a big void in the corner that hasnt changed at all which probably isnt going to randomly start growing by itself at 6 months.

Yes you would expect more growth by now but six months represents only about two to three months worth of growth as most patients won't experience any growth until the third or fourth month. I would like to think you still have a lot of growth to come and of course your hair will thicken considerably too over the coming months. If you are not already taking it, have you thought about taking a biotin supplement to give your growth a boost? Are you on meds btw?

I know it's hard to hear "be patient" when you see so many others getting faster than average growth. But this advice is given mainly because there really isn't anything that you can do after surgery but wait. Someone who's experienced inflammation and folliculitis is very likely to experience slower than average growth. I know I've personally seen patients who have had slow growth end up with great growth but not until they are closer to 14 months after surgery. Hang in there!

Looking good! I hope to get to similar results. I live in Belgium and searched the web to decide what I should do (what procedure) and then were (nobody messes with my hair ;-)
Anyway as most of us I opted for the FUE technology and decided to go for the Prohairclinic in Berlaar, Belgium. It was conveniently close to where I live, the price was acceptable and foremost I got a good feeling (I hope it stays this way after the procedure ;-). At least, the guy was honest enough to recommend less Grafts, by stating that yeah more is better, but if he were in my shoes he would save the money and also keep the donor area more in tact to perhaps harvest in the future if deemed necessary (ok, you could also say that is just smart, keep them coming for more ;-). But i believed him nonetheless.
It will be a 1 day operation on the 6th of August, I'll let you guys know how it went ;-)
